The Company of the Year 2012 is part of the Retail Excellence Ireland Awards, which were established in 1997 to promote best practice standards in the Irish retail industry. The awards, taking place on November 3, focus on promoting and recognising standards of excellence in retail. The awards programme is now the largest and most prestigious of its kind in Ireland.

David Fitzsimons, CEO, Retail Excellence Ireland commented, “I want to commend all of the companies who entered this year. 2012 witnessed the largest entry to this category (Company of the Year 2012) with over 50 companies submitting. In particular, I congratulate the 12 finalists for making it through. While the entries are a testament to the ‘can do’ attitude of retail industry operators, the standard of submissions proves the passion, innovation and belief being applied with each passing day”.

The Retail Excellence Ireland Awards, in partnership with Barclaycard, aim to promote best practice standards in the Irish retail industry. The Awards, which recognise Ireland’s best retail stores, companies, people and websites, takes place in Galway on 3rd November 2012 with President Michael D. Higgins in attendance. This is the 15th year of the industry awards which command over 600 entries annually.
