Ulster Bank have confirmed to the Leitrim Observer that their Manorhamilton based branch will now remain open until April 17th.

The facility was originally due to close this month as part of a cost cutting measure by the Royal Bank of Scotland who currently own Ulster Bank. It was announced last November that 14 of their Republic based branches would close.

Speaking to the Observer on Monday, a spokesperson for the bank said the closure was put back in order to give both the bank more time to ensure operations are aligned with An Post who, under an arrangement between the two groups, would allow Ulster Bank customers to access certain cash and cheque services through post offices around the country.
