Negotiations regarding sale of MBNA ‘considerably advanced’

Local Government TD Frank Feighan has been informed by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton that negotiations regarding the sale of the MBNA business in Carrick-on-Shannon are considerably advanced.

Local Government TD Frank Feighan has been informed by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton that negotiations regarding the sale of the MBNA business in Carrick-on-Shannon are considerably advanced.

“After speaking to Minister Bruton, I remain hopeful that a suitable buyer will be secured in order to safeguard the hundreds of jobs at MBNA in Carrick-on-Shannon.

“There has been considerable interest in both the MBNA Ireland portfolio and the MBNA UK portfolio, which are likely to be sold separately, and the Minister has told me that negotiations regarding the sale of MBNA Ireland portfolio is, in his own words, considerably advanced.
