Ladies Section: The Shannonsiders travelled to Tuam on Sunday for their second match of the season. Tuam put the Shannonsiders under pressure straight away and crashed over for an early try. This was a wake up call for the Shannonsiders who came much more into the game for the remainder of the half as the home side led 5-0 at the break. The Shannonsiders, drawn from Carrick and Longford clubs, drew level when Cliondhna O’Donnell and fellow centre Claire McDermott combined cleverly with O’Donnell powering over the line for a try.

The Shannonsiers continued to press but Tuam held out for the 12-10 win.

Despite the result this was a another good performance by the Shannonsiders and with a break next weekend it gives them time to work hard over the next couple of weeks to iron out the mistakes.
