Rugby fans in Leitirm are in for a real treat next Friday, February 6, when the Connacht squad hold a training session at Carrick-on-Shannon Rugby Club.
Pat Lam will bring his squad to the club’s grounds off the Castlecarra Road on Friday. The morning will begin with the senior squad going through their rugby and conditioning drills on the Carrick on Shannon home pitch.
All children in attendance will then be invited to join the players for the remainder of the session which will be headed up by the Connacht Rugby senior coaching staff.
Pat Lam said “We’re really looking forward to travelling to Carrick on Shannon. I visited the rugby club last year and was really impressed with the work that was being done. I promised that I would return with the full squad and delighted to be in a position to do that now.
Entry is free and the day will consist of fun rugby drills and games with the players. There will also be a chance for autographs and photos as kids are advised to bring their rugby gear.
