Rugby Club Dinner Dance: The Carrick on Shannon Rugby Football Club Dinner Dance took place on Saturday in the Bush Hotel. The club would like to express their gratitude to The Bush Hotel for their fantastic hospitality and excellent meal. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the various awards on the night: Ladies Team Clare McDermott – Coach’s Player; Maeve McKeon – Player to Watch; Player’s Player – Clare Carty. Men’s Team: Paddy McKeon – Coach’s Player; Player to Watch – Denis McCaffrey; Player to Watch - Joseph Kennedy. “Go to Ground” Challenge: Carrick on Shannon RFC is hosting its first ‘Go to Ground Challenge’ on May 4, as part of a schedule of events aimed at raising funds for our pitch development on the Castlecara Rd. The event is a 5.5km circuit of Carrick-on-Shannon requiring speed, coordination, skill & endurance. Starting with a 2.4km run to our club grounds, participants will endure a 600 metre assault course before tackling a 2.5km hill run to the finish. It promises to be a great day with a BBQ and prize giving in Murtagh’s Bar afterwards. The price to take part in this event is €10 per person or €40 for a group (5). Changing and shower facilities will be available on the day and prize giving and after party will take place in Murtagh’s Bar from 2pm.

IRFU Summer Camp: Please keep an eye on our club website http://www.carrickrugbyclub.ie/1/ and the Official IRFU website http://www.irishrugby.ie/camps/ (yet to be updated) as an IRFU Rugby Summer Camp will be held in Leitrim Village Community Pitch on July 15-19.
