“Go to Ground” Challenge: Carrick-on-Shannon RFC is hosting its first ‘Go to Ground Challenge’ on May 4, as part of a schedule of events aimed at raising funds for our pitch development on the Castlecara Rd. The event is a 5.5km circuit of Carrick-on-Shannon requiring speed, coordination, skill & endurance. Starting with a 2.4km run to our club grounds, participants will endure a 600 metre assault course before tackling a 2.5km hill run to the finish. It promises to be a great day with a BBQ and prize giving in Murtagh’s Bar afterwards. The price to take part in this event is €10 per person or €40 for a group (5). Changing and shower facilities will be available on the day and prize giving and after party will take place in Murtagh’s Bar from 2pm.
With the club running the “Go to Ground” event, the Club requires a lot of marshals. We need approximately 30 (Mammies or Daddies) adults maybe more, to help out from 10.30 till about 2pm. Please reply by email or text to 086 3867960 if you are available to help out.
