Minis Rugby: On Saturday, Carrick Minis & Under -13s travelled to Cavan Rugby Club for a full morning of games against Cavan, Monaghan and Longford. There were three age groups; under 7 & 8s, under 9 & 10s and under 11 & 12s. The under 8s played in their second blitz of the season with matches against the home side (Cavan x 2) and visiting sides, Longford and Monaghan. A combination of U-11s and 12s played Longford and Monaghan. Both age groups combined well to give two great performances against good opposition.

Carrick Minis still have a few areas to work on which we will address at our training in Leitrim Community pitch on Saturday at 10:30am. Well done lads you did yourselves and the club proud both on and off the pitch.

A big thanks to all the parents who travelled, your support is much appreciated. We would also like to thank Cavan RFC for the invitation to play in their well organised Blitz. All the players had a really enjoyable morning and were well looked after with drinks and hot dogs afterwards.

Any young boy or girl interested in trying out rugby is more than welcome to join us in Leitrim Community pitch on Saturdays at 10:30am. You might be pleasantly surprised and you would have to be impressed with the amount of other boys and girls enjoying rugby!

Ladies: Carrick Ladies played their second game in the Connacht Development League against Athlone Buccaneers on Sunday. The game may have resulted in a loss to Carrick Ladies with a try versus Buccaneer 17 points but the Carrick Ladies are punching their weights in the scrum having won two of them.

This is a spirited team and with more games yet to play in this development league the ladies can only learn and gain from each game they play. New members are always welcome with no previous experience necessary.

Ladies Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday 7:30 at Castlecara Rd Training ground. Further info on the club can be on our website www.carrickrugby.ie or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/carrick.o.rfc.

Men’s Team: Men’s Training takes place on Monday and Friday evenings at 8pm at the Castlecara Rd Training ground.
