Carrick Town FC news

U-12 v U-13: As neither team had a fixture at the weekend our Under 12’s and 13’s held a very worthwhile game at the Showgrounds on what was an excellent day for football. Best of luck to our 6 U-12 and U-13 Sligo Leitrim team members  when they play the Inishowen League on Saturday next.

Senior: The Senior team played away v Chaffpool United last Sunday in the Robert Cawley Memorial Cup quarter final. Carrick started well and controlled the game from the start on what was a very difficult pitch to play on. They created a few half chances which they did not take. Carrick continued on where they left off in the second half and the pressure finally told after 65 mins when Ray Mulvey scored after a good flowing move. The town could not add to there tally leaving the final score 1-0. It was a very good all round performance with some nice football played and Carrick will look forward to the semi final with a chance to reach the final in their own hands. Congratulation to Jonathan Cassidy who was made captain for the day on his 30th birthday. We have no game this weekend.
