The U-12’s opened the second phase of their league campaign with an emphatic 10-1 demolition of rivals Ballymote on Saturday afternoon. Despite conceding home advantage due to a waterlogged pitch the Carrick lads bossed the game from start to finish and scored some cracking goals and created countless chances in a dominant performance.

The Carrick lads raced into a 6-1 one half time lead with well taken goals from Shane Crowe, Sam Barnes, Oisin Bohan, Diarmuid Kelleher, Donal Casey and Niall Gannon. They continued to dominate the second half and scored another four goals, with Diarmuid Kelleher and Donal Casey each completing their brace, and goals from Kevin Brady and super sub Cormac White who scored the goal of the match with a sweet curling drive into the corner of the net after beating two players inside the box. All the 18 lads in the squad got a good run out and many of the subs were very impressive when they entered the fray. Best on the day for the Carrick side were Donal Casey, Sam Barnes, Diarmuid Kelleher and ‘man of the match’ Niall Gannon. Training continues Tuesday from 5-6 at Aura. U-13: This Saturday we are at home to Strand Celtic White in our second game in Phase Two of the league (weather permitting). Kick-off is scheduled for 11am. Players will be notified by text. Other teams in our group are Merville/Western, Real Tubber, St. Johns, Benbulben, Ballisodare and Arrow Harps (already played).

U-15: On Saturday next, 24 November we play our second game in the group at home to Arrow Harps, weather permitting. Kick 12.45pm. Players will be notified by text. Other teams in our group are Ballygawley, Merville, Calry, St. John’s and Yeats (already played). Training as usual on Thursdays 5 to 6pm.

U-17: We are away to Strand Celtic Green on Saturday. Kick-off 12.45pm. Text will be sent to players re travel arrangements.

Seniors: Our game v Gurteen Celtic due to be played on Sunday last was called off due to waterlogged pitches. On Sunday next, 25th November we are away to Dromore Villa, kick-off 11am.
