Manor Rangers Yeats Cup run came to an abrupt end last Sunday when five players received red cards after a brawl broke out in Bee Park Manorhamilton.

Defeated 4-2 by Calry Bohs in a hard fought Semi-Final in Manorhamilton, the north Leitrim team’s exit from the competition was over-shadowed by a brawl nine minutes from the end of normal time.

Referee Eoin McLoughlin attempted to break up the melee but the fighting continued in separate groups. When it all calmed down, McLoughlin consulted with his linesmen and issued five red cards but many spectators felt several other could consider themselves fortunate not to also receive their marching orders.

Manor Rangers brothers Brian and Thomas McDonald received their marching orders while Calry Bohs lost Michael Flynn, Eoin Nicholson and goalkeeper Bryan McGovern.

The dismissals could leave Manor short for their Champions Cup quarter-Final against Boyle Celtic next Wednesday, June 3, in Boyle.
