Barry’s charity walk to Dublin

Laura Reynolds and Colin Griffin may have stolen the headlines with their walking exploits in the Olympics last Saturady but even their exploits will be dwarfed this week by Drumkeerin’s Barry McPadden as he undertakes a fundraising walk from Croke Park to Drumkeerin.

The Leitrim Ladies Board Treasurer is on his way to Dublin but not by the usual means as the well known Drumkeerin clubman is undertaking a walk this week from Croke Park to Drumkeerin in aid of charity.

Barry’s walk from the home of the GAA started on Monday last, August 13, and he hopes to collect funds for the Friends of St. Luke’s, Leitrim Ladies Gaelic Football Assoication and the Drumkeerin GAA club on a marathon walk from the capital.

Barry McPadden will be joined by friends and colleagues on various legs of the walk. Funds will be raised through street collections and donations.

If anyone would like to join in the walk, help in a collection or donate to the walk they can contact Barry on 0879033774 or Kevie on 0879591206.
