There was mixed news on the players front for Leitrim as the addition of Kildare’s Cian Reynolds to the County Senior team was off-set by the news that Daniel Lowe will not be able to commit to the panel in 2013 due to work commitments.
The St. Mary’s clubman started the Connacht Championship game against London last June but the rest of his campaign was destroyed by injury as Lowe was unable to recover from the injury.
His absence will reduce the midfield options available to Brian Breen and George Dugdale as the St. Mary’s man physique and power in the middle of the park was a huge asset.
However, Lowe’s loss will be off-set by the news that promising Athy player and Carlow IT student Cian Reynolds has joined the Leitrim set-up, regularly training with the County Senior team in the run-up to Christmas.
Reynolds, who has Ballinamore connections, has played Minor and Under 21 for Kildare in recent years but will be unavailable for the FBD League as he is involved with the Carlow IT squad in the O’Byrne Cup.
