Tag rugby came to an end on Friday last with some hotly contested finals. Overall winners for 2014 were Shy Tall Knight, with No woman No Try taking the Bowl Final and Merchant Flankers winning the Plate. Best female player went to Tess Mylott of the Shy Tall Knights and best male player went to Barry Lupton of Shemore Shoeins.

Afterwards an awards ceremony and BBQ was hosted by Murtaghs bar. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank our generous sponsor Kenny Murtagh for their unwavering support and club members Davitt O’Shannon and Jason Roddy for organising another successful tournament.

Women’s team: The senior women’s team are hosting an open day on Thursday of this week at our training grounds on the Castlecara Road. All ladies over the age of 14 years are welcome to join us in basic rugby skills and fitness session. Spot prizes on the night for the wackiest socks and best efforts. News: The club would like to take this opportunity to extend its warmest wishes to senior men’s team player Dermott Foley and his wife Yvonne on the recent arrival of their daughter Kate Anne. Yet another future club player in the making.

Round Robin League continues: The Carrick Tennis Club Round Robin League series will continue on Tuesday evenings from 7pm.

Entry is €2 and registration is from 6.45pm at Carrick tennis club.

Membership: Club membership is open to all starting at €20 for juniors/oaps, €30 seniors and family membership for just €50. Only members will have access to tokens for the floodlights.
