The game was organised by former Senior player, Ronan Sharpley who has been working in a poor region of El Salvador for the past two years.

There was a great turnout of players, both young and old. Following a very entertaining game, the "Townies" emerged victorious over the "Culchies", in spite of some very biased decisions by the "Culchie" referee. On Tuesday, there was a social night out in Ni Fhionns bar, where many of Ronan's friends from home, work and college met and had a very enjoyable night.

Between the game and the get-together that night, €2,000 was raised. Many further donations followed and Ronan was able to take back over €4,000 to El Salvador. All this money will be used in various projects with which he is involved.

So a very big thank you to all who were so generous with their donations. Ronan will keep you all informed of how these projects are progressing, through the medium of the Leitrim Observer.
