Melvin Gaels' Calendar Boys and Girls set up novel fundraising idea

One of the most progressive clubs in the county, Melvin Gaels GAA club are branching off into the world of glamorous photography when they launch a 2017 Club Calendar on Saturday, October 1.

The All-Ireland Final replay may be the focus of the all the attention earlier that evening but Earley’s in Kinlough will host the 2017 Calendar launch night at 9pm.

Management and players have made a great effort to organise, photograph and produce this quality calendar which they will be selling as a fundraising drive for the club. It'll be a real collector’s item to commemorate this very successful group of players.

The talented photographer for the calendar is 26-year-old Aine Friel who hails from the Fanad peninsula in north west Donegal. She has Osteogenesis Imperfecta which is also known as Brittle Bones. She studied Creative Digital Media at Letterkenny IT and also completed a certificate in Disability Studies from NUI Maynooth.

She has always loved photography and never goes far without her camera as she says “I really enjoy landscape photography (especially being surrounded by such stunning scenery) and also children's portraits, as they're both easiest for me to manage. I'm really into all things social media, I'm a big fan of live music, shopping & Donegal GAA of course!”

Calendars will be on sale that night and then in local shops thereafter. The club will also sell them online to facilitate all the overseas orders too! A perfect Christmas present!

The Melvin Gaels club look forward to a great turnout on the night and we thank Earley’s for hosting. There will be music and food for us and we thank James & Nadine for their valuable support.
