Carrick-on-Shannon's AC Eanna Madden wins the Athletics Ireland National Senior 200m title earlier this year.
Carrick-on-Shannon Athletic Club will hold their annual Registration night for all juvenile and senior track & field members on Tuesday, September 27, in Carrick Sports Complex from 6 pm to 7 pm.
After a short break following a busy season that saw Eanna Madden represented Ireland in the European Championships as well as claim National Senior medals along with Gerard O’Donnell, the preparation for the 2016-2017 starts again next week.
There will be no training on Tuesday, September 27, but the first training sessions will be held on Tuesday, October 4.
Primary School children train every Tuesday in Carrick Sports Complex with athletes aged 8 and 9 in 2016 from 5 to 6 pm and for athletes aged 10, 11 & 12 in 2016 from 6 to 7 pm.
For Post-Primary school athletes and track & field seniors, the group meets at 6 pm for outdoor training at the Sports Complex while there is an indoor gym & circuits session on Wednesday from 6 to 7 pm.
Due to restrictions on space in the Sports Complex and the limited number of volunteer coaches and helpers, our Primary School groups are limited to those who register on Tuesday, September 27, with no members accepted after this date with no exceptions.
Children must be eight years of age or eight before Christmas to join the club and must be from the Club's catchment area which includes Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim Village, Gowel, Kilnagross, Jamestown, Drumsna, Annaduff, Cortober, Croghan, Kilmore & Cootehall.
