Leitrim Sports Partnership is looking to establish a panel of qualified sports coaches/leaders or fitness instructors to work on Leitrim Sports Partnership funded programmes in 2013/2014.
Successful applicants to the panel may be required to work on various Sports Programmes in the community, funded through Irish Sports Council, Leitrim County Council and the HSE. The tutors will operate as self-employed persons and will not be in the employ of Leitrim Sports Partnership.
Applicants must possess a recognised relevant National Governing Body of Sport Coaching Qualification, recognised through Coaching Ireland or; Qualified Leader/Instructor of Physical Activities which allows them to coach independently at minimum Fetac Level 5.
Applicants must have the ability to organise and co-ordinate activity sessions for groups; the ability to put together Health and Safety statement/plan for activities they are running; the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team; good communication skills and be able to deal efficiently with the general public; a good standard of English; access to a form of transport which would enable them to carry out duties required; previous relevant coaching experience; Garda Vetting Clearance; a valid first aid qualification and must have completed a Child Welfare Code of Ethics Course prior to commencing activities with the LSP.
Applicants must also be up to date Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance providing appropriate cover for the different types of coaching activities involved prior to commencing activities with the LSP.
All tutors that are claiming travel from the LSP must indemnity Leitrim County Council on their car Insurance policy and the LSP must receive a copy of this insurance policy before the tutor/coach can commence working for the LSP.
Areas of Coaching and Supplementary Requirements
The type of programmes we may run would possibly include a mixture of sports e.g. aerobics, fitness classes, orienteering, athletics, indoor hockey, yoga, hurling, soccer etc. Tutor and Coaching Qualification in any of the following would be of specific interest: Buntus Generic, Buntus Start, Code of Ethics, Active Leadership Courses, Child Officer Courses, inclusive Games/Skills (Disability Inclusion training approved or equivalent).
