The Dock looks forward to 2017

Charlie McGettigan

2017 will be a bumper year in terms of arts activities at The Dock Arts Centre.
The new events guide has just been released and a quick browse through it confirms that there will be no shortage of high quality entertainment and creative fun on offer for all ages between January and May of next year.

Indeed if you are still looking for a Christmas gift idea or two, you might consider some tickets to a gig at The Dock or a Dock Gift Voucher.

The New Year will begin in earnest on Friday, January 20 with the return of the ever popular band The 4 of Us who will bring their critically acclaimed acoustic show showcasing songs from their forthcoming new album Sugar Island, as well as songs from their extensive back catalogue.

From their first anthem Mary - still a radio favourite, through to the UK-charting She Hits Me, the band has notched up over two decades of radio hits and six top 20 charting albums.
The following weekend The Dock welcomes singer/ songwriter and broadcaster Charlie Mc Gettigan for a special musical treat.
Charlie joins Boyle Singer Songwriter Donie O’ Connor and Drumshanbo’s own Eamon and Orla Daly for a night of “in the round” music and song.
Eamon and Orla have been friends of Charlie’s for over 40 years and indeed Eamon and Charlie were founding members of Jargon, regular music favourites in the Leitrim area during the 1970’s.
Donie O’ Connor is highly regarded by his peers and fans around the world.
It will be a very enjoyable night and demand for tickets will be high so make sure to get your as soon as you can.

If you are thinking about getting tickets or a voucher as a Christmas gift there are plenty of great shows on in February as well including performances by Seamus O'Rourke in Danger Money, trad music with the David Munnelly Trio and a concert by the incomparable Jack L.

Add a host of workshops and masterclass events for all ages into the mix and you have a flavour of what is coming your way in 2017.
