McCartin, James and Eileen, Tullaghan, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim

In fond and loving memory of a dear Mum and Dad. RIP.

As each day dawns we think of you,

As each night falls we pray for you.

And throughout our lives no matter where,

In our hearts you are always there.

Softly within the shadows,

God gave a gentle call.

With farewells left unspoken,

You silently left us all.

Our hearts still ache with sadness,

And silent tears still flow.

For what it meant to love and miss you,

No one will ever know.

Sad are the hearts that loved you,

Silent are the tears that fall.

Living our lives without you,

Is the hardest part of all.

We miss you from your fireside chair,

Your loving smile and gentle air.

Your vacant place no one can fill,

We miss you Mum and Dad and always will.

If we could have a lifetime wish

And one dream that could come true,

We would pray to God with all our hearts

Just to see and speak to you.

A thousand words won’t bring you back

We know because we tried,

And neither will a million tears

We know because we cried.

You left behind our broken hearts

And precious memories too,

But we never wanted memories

We only wanted you.

Some day we hope to meet you

Some day, we know not when,

To clasp your hands in the better land

Never to part again.

Today is your anniversary mass,

And you would not want a fuss.

Just to be remembered,

With a prayer from all of us.

(Sadly missed and always remembered by your family: Evelyn, Hubert, Seamus, Sean, Bernadette, and Carmel, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Anniversary mass Sunday August 19th at 11:30 am in St. Joseph’s Church Aughavas)
