Photography exhibition
Each Thursday evening a group of teenagers get together at St. Mary’s High School in Brollagh to learn the skills of Photoshop to restore old photographs collected in the local community. The training will culminate with a photographic exhibition entitled “Everyday Life in a Border Community” in Cashel Community Centre on Saturday 16th March from 4pm-6pm. The photos worked on by the young people in the classes will be displayed, and the photos will be documented in a booklet which will be available at the event. Local entertainment will be provided and light refreshments will be served. A warm welcome is extended to all. This is part of the Gillaroo Communities Project funded by the International Fund for Ireland, Leitrim Development Company and Leitrim County Council.
Rainbow Camera Club
The cross-border Rainbow Camera Club will be holding its March meeting in The Cabin, Rossinver on Thursday 14 March from 8pm to 10pm. The club currently has members from Counties Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal, Cavan and Fermanagh. This month we shall be looking at how to resize images without losing too much quality so as to make them easier to email. After the break there will be a slide shows of recent photographs that the members have produced. We shall also be finalising details for our photographic shoot planned for Saint Patrick’s day. New members are always welcome, and more details can be obtained from Martin Cooke at the New Ballagh Centre in Rossinver (071 9854030) or from Patrick Mullan (071 9854405).
