We extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Eileen Gallagher, Congress Terrace on the recent death of her sister Sheila McCullough, Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone. Funeral took place in Tyrone on 28th February last. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 4.15pm from the Carrick Road. There will be live music on the Main St from 3.45pm.

Community Alert meeting

A meeting is scheduled to take place at 8 00pm on the 21st March 2013 in Aras Padraig in Drumshanbo with a view to re establishing the concept of Community Alert and Neighbourhood Watch in Drumshanbo and the surrounding areas, Supt Furlong from Manorhamilton Garda Station will attend the meeting and the Crime Prevention Officer for the Sligo/Leitrim Garda Division will give a presentation on crime prevention. Ms Vanessa Clarke from Muíntir na Tíre will also attend. It is important that people attend the meeting particularly those who have an interest in being coordinators in their local areas.

Daffodil Day

Daffodil Day takes place on Friday, 22nd March in Drumshanbo from 9am to 6pm. If you would like to volunteer for an hour or two please contact Seamus Flynn on 086-1502821. Donations of fresh daffodils would also be appreciated.

Leitrim GAA Supporters Club Draw

There are still a number of Leitrim Supporters tickets available at €40 each. Funds raised goes to support the Leitrim county teams from Under

16 to Senior. Tickets may be purchased from John Joe Cullen, Paschal Mooney or Sean Wynne.

Irish Heart collection

Thanks to all the Collectors who helped in the recent Irish Heart Foundation Church Gate Collection. They are: Sean Nolan, Michael McLoughlin, John Joe Cullen, Michael Raftery, Sean Kielty and Sean Logan. The amount collected was €751. Sincere thanks also to those who contributed.

Midland Retired Teachers Association

The Midland Retired Secondary Teachers Association will meet on Tues March 19th in Longford Library at 11am. Laura Thompson of Healthy Options will speak on all things health related and answer questions. Laura promotes holistic/natural therapies/products and is very qualified in same. Suitable for the men too!! We will then have our meeting followed by lunch. Look forward to seeing you...please bring a friend. Senior Citizens

Senior Citizens will meet on this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2pm in Áras Phádraig for the weekly chat and a cuppa. New members always welcome.

Allen Gaels 25 card drive

The popular Allen Gaels 25 card Drive continues every Sunday evening in the Clubhouse at 8.30pm. Everybody welcome. Refreshments served.

Foroige Club seek volunteers

Carrick-on-Shannon Foroige Club are looking for volunteers interested in working with their local youth group to help facilitate a group on Friday evenings between 6pm-7.30pm.

All volunteers are welcome and must be over 18 years of age. Application process carried out along with training. If Interested please contact Lorraine on 087 4162014.
