Due to the success of the St. Patrick’s weekend last year, the leaders and members of Drumkeerin Youth Club are delighted to announce that the St. Patrick’s Weekend Celebrations will be hosted in Drumkeerin from March 15th to March 18th 2013. A fun-filled weekend of activities have been organised so come along and join in the fun. On Friday night, March 15th the first official concert of the Gathering will be hosted by the John McKenna Traditional Society with doors open at 8:30pm. On Saturday, March 16th, a “Disco” will be hosted for young people aged 9 and upwards from 9 to 11pm. On Sunday, March 17th at 7.30pm, the St. Patrick’s Night Parade will take place in the village and on Monday, March 18th the Mobile Cinema will provide entertainment for all.
The parade has grown every year and this year as in the past we are asking all businesses, community and voluntary groups to start thinking of designs for their floats which will ensure that the parade is as entertaining as ever while also providing a great advertisement for their sector. There will be at least five chances to win a prize with an overall prize for the best float. We would like to thank everyone in our community for all the support they have given us over the years. We hope that you will again support us to ensure that the parade is even bigger and better than ever! There is nothing better than celebrating all things Irish within our own community!
