Úna Bhán Tourism is delighted to announce that Henry Healy from Ireland Reaching Out will hold an information session on Tuesday, 9th April in Boyle Enterprise Centre at 7.30pm. This is an opportunity for individuals and communities to learn how they can get involved and benefit from the initiative. Henry is the eighth cousin of President Barack Obama and has recently returned from Washington where he was a guest at the President’s St Patrick’s Day Celebrations. Boyle Rambling Anglers

JPC public meeting

Boyle Town Council Joint Policing Committee wish to inform you that a public meeting will be held on Monday, 8th April at 6.00pm in the meeting room, County Council Offices, Cootehall Street, Boyle. There will be a presentation by the West Region Drugs Task Force.

The Joint Policing Committee has been established under the Garda Síochána Act 2005 and the committee includes the elected members of Boyle Town Council, Oireachtas Members, Gardai, the community, voluntary sector and officials of Boyle Town Council.

The function of the Committee is to serve as a forum for consultations, discussions and recommendations on matters affecting the policing of the local authority’s administrative area. Members of the public are invited to attend, to have their views heard.

Farmers Market

The weekly market offers you the opportunity to talk first hand with the local growers and producers that provide fresh, locally grown produce, including vegetables that are in season, organic meat and poultry, home bakes, fruit juices, jams, sauces, organic eggs, gluten and wheat free breads and fresh fish to name but a few. Boyle Golf Club

A club outing will take place to Ballinrobe on Saturday, April 13th, entry sheet and details on noticeboard. Thanks to Adrian King who is very generously sponsoring the prizes to the value of €200 A new weekly 18 hole competition for Ladies and Gents will start on Wednesday, April 3rd and continue every Wednesday during the summer months. Special entry fee of €5 for members and €10 for non-members.

The Mens Thursday competition re-commences on April 4th. Sponsor sheet are on noticeboard. A campaign for new members will take place in April and your support will be appreciated, see noticeboard for details. In ladies news well done to Moira Egan who won the Captains Prize at the Western Alliance in Rosses Point last week.

Volunteering sheets are on the club noticeboard, all support welcome. The draw for the King Harmon will take place on Sunday April 7th. Entry sheet is on noticeboard.

Poetry Competition 2013

Boyle Arts Festival are delighted to announce the Boyle Arts Festival Poetry Competition for 2013. Prizes: €500 first prize plus 4 x €50 highly commended Closing Date June 15th. Tawnytaskin Community Centre

Boyle Singers Circle

Traditional unaccompanied singing, in English and Irish meet on the third Saturday of every month, in Dodd’s Crescent Bar, Boyle. All singers and listeners welcome.

CYBER SAFETY ADVICE WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS: This workshop gives parents an opportunity to learn more about their childrens usage of social media sites e.g. facebook, twitter etc. and many more. Discussions on how parents can minimise the chances of their children getting caught up in cyber bullying and also how to deal with it if it occurs.
