Schools reunion planning meeting This Wednesday, 22nd May at 8pm is the next meeting of the planning group. The meeting will be held, as usual, at Killargue Community Centre, come along and lend your brain power and effort to ensuring this event goes ahead! The group are still calling for photographs, stories and anecdotes that can be used in the Lives and Times of Killargue photographic exhibition.

Also, if you have any speech or music recordings the group would very much be interested in hearing them. You can drop your photos/information off at the Post office with Patty Reynolds or up at Janice and Ed Conick’s house, phone 087 2147453 for directions. Great care will be taken of your items, they’ll be copied onto the computer and the originals returned to you. Last week information was recieved about the Belhavel Trio.....remember them?

Love Leitrim meeting

Next meeting is taking place on Thursday, May 23rd at 8pm in the Men’s Group room in the Bee Park Centre Manorhamilton. All are welcome to attend these meetings, whether involved before or not.

Youth Disco

Taking place in Ballinaglera Hall on Friday the 24th of May from 9pm to 11.30pm. Event fully supervised. Parents please note, volunteers always needed. All young people between the ages of 10 & 14 welcome. Great DJ and fun guaranteed.

Apostolic Cake Sale

This annual cake sale will be taking place in the foyer of St Brigid’s Church, Killargue after Mass on Saturday 25th May. All donations of cakes will be gratefully received but also do buy one of these delicious offerings all in aid of the missions.

Apostolic annual raffle

Lines at €2 each are currently on sale from Bridget Fitzpatrick, Mary Harte and others. The raffle will be drawn on 25th May.

Lourdes

The annual Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 27th May to 1st June led by Bishop Leo O’ Reilly. Bookings may be made for the Assisted Pilgrim Section with Rev Kevin Fay, Lavey on 087 857 9968 / 049 433 0018. Bookings for Hotels is through Mc Ginnity Travel, Coleman Road, Cavan on 049 4331 831. If anyone feels that someone in their family or a neighbour would benefit from taking part in this Pilgrimage they should contact Fr Fay. Early booking essential.

Happy Gardeners meeting again

On Tuesday 28th May at Paula’s house, the gardeners meet again. This time there should be some work done apart from eating cake! Paula’s asking for help coming up with ideas for what she can do and how she can do it, in her garden. Also, in June the group is having a Plant Swap stall at the Dromahair Demons Festival so that’s got to be planned as well! Come along and join the group. “Grease as gaeilge”

Not to be missed, for two nights only: Gaelscoil Chluainín presents its musical “Grease as Gaeilge”, a very ambitious production and the first of its kind in this part of the country. The cast includes 61 children from all areas of North Leitrim aged from 6-12 years. This is a culmination of the eclectric mix of talents amidst parents and staff, graphic designers, artists, musicians, sculptors and stylists, which combined with, the wonderful acting ability of the children guarantees a great nights entertainment. Final showing of The Real McCoy

The final showing in the North West of The Real Mc Coy will take place in the Rainbow of Glenfarne Friday 31st May. Tickets are €15 and are available by contacting 0866735857. All proceeds are in aid of St Michael’s National School Glenfarne.

Bag packing

On Friday and Saturday 31st May and 1st June in Dunnes Stores, Cranmore, Sligo the North Leitrim Women’s Centre is fundraising to keep their doors open. Remember, these days they don’t get a whole lot of financial support from anywhere so fundraising is key to their continued existence. If you can give an hour or two on any of these dates please contact the Centre on 071 9856220, emailnlwrg@eircom.net or simply call into the Women’s Centre.
