Church News

Baptism: John Paul Rynn, son of Micheal and Martina, Lower Rover was welcomed into the Christian community.

Congratulations to the following boys and girls who received First Holy Communion in the Chuch of the Immaculate Conception, Arigna on Saturday May 11th: Aoife, Arran, Caoimhe, Caolan, Carrie, Ciara, Ellie Mai, Erin, James, Joshua and Shannon. First Communion is an important lanndmark in the faith development of these young people. Thanks to their parents, family, community and teachers who play an important role in their faith formation. Thanks to all the children’s Choir members, organist/conductor and teachers who have been practicing over the past few weeks. Thanks to those who provided transport for the children to the choir practices and also to those who provided transport for the First Holy Communion practices. A very special word of thanks to the parents of the First Class children in all the schools for organising, preparing the food, baking and hosting a very successful party for the First Communion children and their families in the Arigna Enterprise Centre afterwards. Thanks also t A.C.D>C for making their facilities available.

Arigna Enterprise Centre

There will be a meeting on May 23rd for all members of the community to attend regarding the future of our Enterprise Centre.

St. Ronan’s Lotto

There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot when the draw was held last weekend. The numbers drawn were 2, 19, 21, 29. Consolation prizes were won by the following €70 Joanne Casey, Keadue, €30 Catherine Noone, Keadue, €15 each Peggie McTiernan, Ballyfarnon, Ellen Haran, Keadue, Colm O’Donnell, Keadue. The jackpot this week will be €7,700 and the draw will be held in Sadlier’s Bar, Keadue.

Bonus Ball Bash

Crossna Players

For those who missed out on a chance to see the play, “My Wife’s Family” statged by the Crossna Dramatic Group in Crossna Community Centre, the good news is that it is coming to Keadue on Saturday May 25th next.

Fundraising Fun Event

Fundraising Fun Event in Kilronan Castle on Sunday June 2nd at 8pm. All proceeds to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin. Music on the night by Sean Brennan. Appreciate Nature

Locals and visitors to the area are invited to take a walk along the Historical Trail and Miners’s Way through Knockranny Forest and see the beautiful Bluebells, especially around the Court Tomb. It is a sight to behold.

Thank you

A massive thank you from Strabraggan National School to all those who contributed to our scrap collection over the past weeks. We collected over 10 tonnes which raised in excess of E1,000 whcih will be used for school trips and other school projects. Year of Faith

An Hour of Aodration in union with Pope Francis. Pope Francis will preside at an hour of Adoration in St. Peter’s Basilica on Sunday June 2nd beginning at 5pm (4pm Rome time). All parishioners are invited to join with the Holy Father and people from around Ireland in adoration at the same time in Keadue Church 4-5pm.

Vision Week

The Year of Faith will take place from May 21st to 25th in Killenummery and Killery. Wednesday May 22nd Killavoggy Prayer Service and Veneration of the Relics of St. Padro Pio, Thursday May 23rd, Killavoggy Mass, Friday May 24th Ballinagar. Prayer Service, Saturday May 25th 2013, Ballinagar Vigil Mass and closing ceremonies. All ceremonies at 7:30pm.
