Bornacoola GAA Fashion Show
The men and woman of Bornacoola GAA Club are preparing to strut their stuff on April 19th; all for a good cause. This is just one event in a list of exciting challenges they have set themselves as part of the club’s fundraising endeavours for the coming season. Fashions will be supplied by shops on Longford, Carrick-on-Shannon and Athlone. Models will be our own home grown talent! See your favourite players as they put their best foot forward and walk the ramp! Music on the night with Tom Moran, Wine & Cheese reception and raffle. Tickets are priced at only €10 and are now available so dig deep and support this very worthwhile cause.

Midland Retired Secondary Teachers Association
Midland Retired Secondary Teachers Association will hold AGM on Tues April 9th at 11:30am in Longford Library. Lunch will follow and we then travel to Longford Garden Centre, Drumlish Road for 3pm where Laura Shaw will give demonstration and answer questions on all things related to gardening. Swimming lessons: adults one to one and children’s group and one to one swimming lessons commencing in the Lough Allen Hotel, Drumshambo. Children’s group lessons take place on a Tuesday evening and Saturday morning, €60 for 6 weeks, 8 children per class, 45minutes per class. Adults and children’s one to one take place on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evening, €110 for 6 weeks, 45minute classes. Discount for more than 2 children per family. A note to hand from my neighbour Seamus Duignan to let you know that County Longford Scuba divers Search and rescue unit are holding a “Fundraising Cycling Sportive” on Sunday, April 28th next. The cycle will start at their clubhouse on the Ballinalee Road Longford at 10.30am and the cycle will be for distances of 80km, 50km, or 20km which ever the cyclist prefers. Solo Photographic Exhibition
Ballinamore library would like to invite the public in to view a “Solo Photographic Exhibition” by Dromod Photographer Ailbhe McGill. The exhibition will run until 12th April during library opening hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10.00-1.30 and 2.30 to 5.30. Tuesday to Thursday 10.00-1.30 and 2.30-8.00, Saturday 10.00-1.30 and 2.30-5.00. Admission Free.

Easter bank holiday weekend busy around Dromod but very cold, the usual surge of boats on the Shannon did not happen ....Badminton continues every Wednesday Mohill Sports Complex at 8pm….Thanks to all who supported the Bornacoola GAA club draw in Copper Still on Saturday last…. Feargal and Ronnie got together for one night only in the Copper Still on Easter Sunday night last and what a night’s entertainment it was ....Body attack continues every Thursday at Bornacoola Community Centre at 9pm....Bornacoola will be organising their “Gathering” celebrations in conjunction with their Lough Rynn Festival which will be on the last weekend of August…
