County Leitrim Community Forum is hosting a one-day conference for representatives of the County Community
Forums, which make up the Border Forum Network.

This includes counties Leitrim, Donegal, Sligo, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.

There will also be a cross border dimension, with representatives of the Fermanagh Community Network in attendance.

The event is scheduled to take place on June 22nd in the Bee Park Centre, Manorhamilton.

The event is the brainchild of County Leitrim Community Forum who felt that it was both essential and timely to ensure that the voice of the community is articulated effectively so that the maximum community influence can be brought to bear on the distribution of resources through Peace and other funding sources.

The conference will have keynote speeches from Ruth Taillon, Director of the Centre for Cross Border Studies, Ann Mc Geeney of Blue Zebra Consultancy and Donald Mc Donald of Pobal, who will cover issues including the current context for cross border work, the challenges of peace building and facilitating social inclusion.
