On Wednesday 27th March the intrepid band of local people will be gathering to continue their work developing the reunion event in August. Celebrate Easter at dawn

The Parish of Killenummery and Killery invites you to celebrate Easter with a Dawn Mass at Creevelea Abbey at 6am on Easter Sunday morning. It will be the first time that a Dawn Mass has been celebrated at the Abbey in recent memory. Contact Information: Fr. Easter cake sale

Easter Sunday 31st March 2013, 12md and 2pm. Come along and get yourself an Easter Treat, Easter Cakes, Cup Cakes, Tarts.....etc. Your Support would be very much appreciated by the organisers. If you would like to Donate baked items or items for Prizes, they can be dropped into the Depot from 10am on the morning of Sale. There will also be a DRAW on day for numerous prizes.

Competition time!

Pre-School Children: Paint the poster competition. Posters available in local shops. Junior, senior, 1st & 2nd Class: Paint the egg competition. (Please ensure egg is hard boiled prior to decorating. 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Class: Create an Easter Bonnet and wear it on the day. One entry per child. Proceeds for the Upkeep of the 4 AED units - Dromahair, Ballinagar, Newtownmanor, & Kilcoosey.

Old tyme and social dance

On Easter Monday, 1st April 2013 at 9pm why not nip along to Glenfarne and dance the night away? Music will be by Larry & Co. and all proceeds will go to the Cardiac Service in Sligo General Hospital. Admission is 7/5 euro.

Ireland West trad live

Also on Easter Monday starting at 7pm. Presented by Eleanor Shanley and Cathy Jordan, and joined by a host of musicians including John Carty, Patsy Hanley, James Carty and Harry Bradley, this promises to be a night to remember.... so tell all your friends and family overseas to tune in for a drop of the pure stuff from the West of Ireland! The Organisers say “Log on to www.irelandwesttrad.com to register and be in with a chance to win a fabulous holiday to the wonderful West of Ireland.” Well we all live in the west of Ireland anyway, but a holiday wouldn’t come amiss now, would it?

Community Games

The Manorhamilton Area Community Games swimming competition will be held on Friday 5th April 2013 in Sligo Regional Sports Complex. Registration will be between 4pm - 4.30pm, with the races starting from 4.50pm sharp. There will be a number of different events for boys and girls spanning the U8 to U16 age groups. Competitors must live within the Manorhamilton Community Games area which includes Kiltyclogher, Glenfarne, Manorhamilton, Killargue, Dromahair, Newtownmanor, Glencar and Mullies. Two will qualify from each individual event and go on to represent their area at the County Finals which will be held at the Aura Leisure Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon, on 21st April. Tennis starts again!

The Killargue Tennis & Basketball Club are delighted to announce that tennis coaching in Killargue will resume after Easter! More information next week re dates times and costs but it’s great news and also means that summer’s on it’s way!

Happy Gardeners met again!

They met last Saturday, had a great time and will be meeting next on Tuesday April 30th at 7pm at Lyn and Steve’s house. You don’t know Lyn and Steve? None of the members knew each other before this group started meeting so why not come along, look at the gardens of others and meet more people....and that’s BEFORE you start eating the cake! More details nearer the time.
