Easter Ceremonies

Holy Thursday - Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Ballyfarnon 8pm. Quiet time for prayer on Holy Thursday before the Altar of Repose. Ballyfarnon Church will remain open from after Mass till 12 midnight. Stations of teh Cross on Good Friday at 12 noon in Keadue Village and Arigna Church at 7pm. Good Friday - The Celebration of the Lord’s Passion. (A Day of Fast and Abstience)- Keadue 3pm, Arigna 3pm and Ballyfarnon 3pm. Easter Sunday Masses: Ballyfarnon 9am, Arigna 10:30am and Keadue 12 noon.

Trocaire Lenten Fast

Gospel Choir

A Gospel Choir from Virigina, Co. Cavan will perform in St. Mary’s Church, Killenummery (Ballinagar), Co. Leitrim on Palm Sunday evening at 7pm. There will be an optional contribution on the door and all proceeds will go to the North West Hospice in Sligo.

St. Ronan’s Lotto

There was no winner of the Lotto jackpot when the draw was held last weekend. The numbers drawn were 5, 6, 11, 20. Consolation prizes were won by the fiollowing €70 John and Moira Doyle, Keadue, €30 Eugene McPartland, Arigna, €15 each Lisa McNamara and Mick Jordan, Arigna, Peggy and Angela, Ballyfarnon, Marion Woods, Drumshanbo. The jackpot this week will be €6,900 and the draw will be held in Sadlier’s Bar, Keadue.

Bonus Ball Bash

Last week’s winners of €45 each were Don Parkinson and Patrick Wimsey. To win €45 get your €2 entry at the Harp and Shamrock or O’Donnell’s.

Cake Sale Fundraiser

On Easter Sunday March 31st, Strabraggan National School will be hosting a Cake Sale Fundraiser in the Arigna Enterprise Centre after Mass. We are looking for volunteers to bake cakes, breads or make deserts or to help out on the day. For information please call Sally on 087-2544681 or Anke on 086-8643164.

St. Ronan’s GAA Club

Preparations are well in hand for our two fundraising events to be held over the Easter weekend. We are holding a progressive card drive in Ballyfarnon Community Centre on Good Friday at 8:30pm with €500 in prizes. Our annual 10K walk/run from Arigna to Ballyfarnon will take place on Easter Monday. Registration at 1:30pm in Arigna. Refreshments in Ballyfarnon. Transport back to Arigna available. €10 entry fee. Proceeds will again go to St. Ronan’s GAA Club and Pieta House. Tickets for our Club Gathering on May 5th in Kilronan Castle are now available. Kilronan Community Games

Kilronan Community Games would like to thank everyone who contributed to our recent church gate collection. A total of €460.00 was collected. Swimming Results: U8 Girls: 1st Caoimhe Schusterova, 2nd Shannon Keaveney. U10 Girls Freestyle: 1st Aoibhe Flynn, 2nd Caoimhe Flynn. U10 Girls Backstroke: 1st Aoibhe Runn, 2nd Caoimhe Flynn, 3rd Caoimhe Schusterova. U12 Boys Freestyle: 1st Fiachra Schusterovi. U12 Boys Backstroke: 1st Fiachra Schusterovi.

Charity Tax 2012

Thanks to all who donated to the collections during 2012. Acknowledgement letters have been to all who contributed E250 or more during 2012. Those who are PAYE only tax payers are asked to fill in the CHY2 Cert they received and to return it as soon as possible. In the form, please write “Parish of Kilronan- Charity Tax No. CHY 07423) in the box for “eligible charity/approved body”. Please note that this is a fully approved Government scheme and that your filling in the attached form will not cost you a cent.

IFA meeting

Roscommon IFA Public Meeting on Wednesday, March 27th at 8:30pm sharp in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon to get update on CAP Negotiations. Guest Speaker is Mr. John Bryan, IFA President. All farm families are welcome to attend.

America Tea Party

The party will be held in St. Ronan’s Hall on Saturday April 13th starting at 9pm. Tickets are now on sale from the organising committee.

O’Carolan Harp Festival

A meeting of the O’Carolan Harp Festival and Summer School committees will be held on Mondya nigth at 9pm. Arrangements for the staging of these events are at an advanced stage. The week long summer school starts on July 29th and the festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Keadue CCE
