Congratulations and best wishes to James Faughnan, Solicitor, Carrick-on-Shannon and formerly of Corduff, Aughamore and Mary McMahon, Optician, on the birth of a baby girl (Eva) at Mullingar Hospital on Sunday, 10th March, 2013, a little sister for Laura, Maria and James.

Lotto draw

The Parish and G.A.A. Lotto took place in Duignan’s, Drumsna on Sunday. The winning numbers were 3, 9, 21, 22. There was no jackpot winner. The following were our prize winners. €50 was won by Tomas Faughnan, Corduff. €25 prizes were won by: Doreen Ward, Annaduff, John Dowling, 3 Warren View, Dromod, Jonathon Harte, Aughintass, Patricia Reilly, Glebe. Thanks to all who contributed. Congratulations to our winners. A special thanks to Gabriel for hosting the draw. The next Lotto Draw will be held in Cox’s Steakhouse, Dromod on Sunday, 7th April, with a jackpot of €4,200.

Silver medal

Congratulations and well done to Joanna Duignan, daughter of Teresa and Philip, Gortinee who came 2nd Place in the Track All Ireland 400 metres under 18’s and was awarded a Silver Medal in Athlone on Saturday last.

STOP suicide fundraiser

A text from Mairead Guckian who is organising a fundraiser in aid of Stop Suicide in Mulvey’s Bowling Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon on Good Friday from 4 p.m. €50 for a team of 4 for 30 minutes. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and Spot Prizes. Your support would be gratefully appreciated.

James Gill fundraising

James Gill is suffering from a rare liver cancer and his only hope is further treatment in America. The cost of this is 80.000 Euro and various fundraising events are taking place to help this young man of just twenty years old to have a chance of survival. James’s Dad Declan is from Curramartin Drumsna and his grand-parents Mary and P.J. Gill live in Coolcrieve. He has many cousins and relatives all around the Drumsna area. He has been fighting cancer for a number of years while being looked after with great care by his Mom Geraldine, Dad Declan and his sister and brothers.

On Easter Sunday night March 31st there will be a fundraiser in Duignan’s Drumsna with music by Country One. Admission is optional. On Friday night April 5th there will be a fundraiser in Cox’s Steak House with music by Nando and Shandy Admission optional. There are also tickets on sale for 10 Euro each 1st prize a vintage tractor, 2nd a maiden Heifer, 3rd 300 Euro worth of heating oil and the draw will take place in Taylors Drumsna on Saturday night April 20th.

A Meeting of the I.C.A. will be held on Tuesday 2nd April at 8 p.m. (due to Monday being a Bank Holiday). Alan Flanagan, Reflexologist, will be in attendance.
