Come support the guys being waxed on our fundraising night for your local Scout Group, 1st Leitrim, in Smyth’s Siopa Ól, Saturday, 1st June from 9pm onwards. Music on the night, a night of great entertainment guaranteed.


Bingo continues every Thursday night at 9pm in the community centre. Every week €1,100 is won in prizes. The jackpot is now an amazing €8,450. Come along and chance your luck. Fun Run, Walk and Roll

Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities Memorial Event in memory of the late Howard Cusack and Sr.Emmanuel Farrelly 5K walk and 2K Fun run, Walk and Roll on Sunday, May 26th at 12.30pm. The event will be launched by Alan Devine (Louie) Fair City and and Andy McGovern, author of “Against the Odds”. Entry fee €10, families €20 everybody of all ages welcome. Bantracht na Tuaithne Seanfhocal (ICA Proverb Exhibition) is on display in Ballinamore library until Wednesday 29th May during Library Opening Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 – 1.30 and 2.30 – 5.30. Tuesday and Thursday 10 – 1.30 and 2.30 to 8.00. Saturday 10 -1.30 and 2.30 – 5.00.

The Life and Death of Stars

Following a very successful and interesting talk by Christophe Lombardi on The Sky at Night in Ballinamore Library on 26th March, Christophe will give a follow up talk in the library entitled “The Life and Death of Stars” on Tuesday 21st May at 8pm. Anyone who has an interest in Astronomy or anyone who simply loves looking at the night sky come along and you will not be disappointed. Remember admission is free and all are welcome.

May run, walk, roll

The annual may run walk or roll in aid of Cancer Research/North West Hospice will take place on Sunday May 26th 2013 starting from Aughnasheelin Community centre at 1 p.m. Entry Fee €10. Sponsorship cards on request - contact Cáit at 087 2123703. Join the walk and you will not only support a good cause but you will also bring your friends and families together for a great fun afternoon. Last year over €10,000 was raised for Cancer research and this year we would gope to exceed that for these two very worthy causes. If you can’t walk you can stil help out with stewarding, refreshments, registration etc, or you can donate on If you’re donating but not walking why not join us for refreshments in the Community Centre following the event.
