We are now taking bookings for September 2013 for children who are age 2 years and 10 months on 1 September 2013. We are also providing places under the ECCE Scheme, if your child is going to school in September 2014 and born between 2 February 2009 and 30 June 2010, they are entitled to avail of the FREE Pre-school year. Summer Camp in “Little Rascals”

Cloone/Aughavas Community Childcare are running a one week Summer camp from 1 July - 5 July from 10am-1pm. Activities include; Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Sports day, Gardening, Teddy Bears Picnic, Fun and Games, Magician show, Day trip, Mixed activities and lots more. Congratulations to the Aughavas Set Dancers - Lucy Cole, Éadaoin Casey, Gráinne Casey, Éabha Kenny, Celine Shortt, Ciara McKiernan, Katie McKiernan and Lauren Galligan who received first and second in the U12 Set and Céili Dancing in the Fleadh Ceoil in Ballinamore last weekend. A special work of thanks to their teacher Fáinne Kearney who is busy preparing the girls for the All-Ireland Community Games Finals at the end of this month. Congratulations also to Cathal McNamara who came first in the U10 Tin Whistle Competition.

Turlough Conefrey Memorial Cup Challenge

Turlough Conefrey Memorial Cup Challenge was cancelled due to weather conditions and will hopefully take place on the Bank Holiday Weekend in June.

Crafty Ladies

A Coffee morning will take place this Friday 17 May from 10am-2.30pm at the Post Office Carrigallen. One of our members are doing a class/demo on dress-making, following and making patterns, cutting out so please come along, all welcome. Only €4 per person. Exhibition in Ballinamore Library

Bantracht na Tuaithne Seanfhocal (ICA Proverb Exhibition) is on display in Ballinamore library until Wednesday, 29 May during library opening hours. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am-1.30pm and 2.30pm-5.30pm. Tuesday and Thursday 10am-1.30pm and 2.30pm-8pm. Saturday 10am-1.30pm and 2.30pm-5pm.

The Life and Death of Stars

Following a very successful and interesting talk by Christophe Lombardi on The Sky at Night in Ballinamore library on 26 March, Christophe will give a follow up talk in the library entitled, “The Life and Death of Stars” on Tuesday next, 21 May at 8pm.

Anyone who has an interest in astronomy or anyone who simply loves looking at the night sky come along and you will not be disappointed. Remember admission is free and all welcome.

Coding for Kids for free

We are setting up a free coding for kids class in Ballinamore. Coding is the way you build websites, computer games and Apps. Coding is very useful for kids and adults alike. CoderDojo is the organisation worldwide who want to teach kids to code for free.

All the information is here www.coderdojo.com. There are over 50 coderdojos in Ireland today. We need adults and kids to email us to see if we have enough interest. We intend to have one every Saturday for 1 or 2 hours.

This is open to all kids the Leitrim/Cavan/Longford/Fermanagh area. Please email cdballinamore@gmail.com if you want to help or are interested in joining.

Leitrim Horse Riding Club

Leitrim Horse Riding Club are looking for new members, we are hosting an open evening at Moorlands Equestrian Centre, Drumshanbo, this Friday 17 May from 7pm. Members must be over 17 years of age, all levels of riding experience welcome.

LAPWD Fun run walk and roll

A 5K walk and 2K Fun run, walk and roll in memory of the late Howard Cusack and Sr Emmanuel Farrelly will take place on Sunday 26 May at 12.30pm. The event will be launched by Alan Devine (Louie from Fair City) and dramaclub.ie and Andy McGovery, author of “Against the odds”.

Entry fee €10 per adult, €20 for families. All ages welcome. Medals for everyone who completes the route along with spot prizes and refreshments.

Leitrim Sports Partnership

Leitrim Sports Partnership is hosting a Nathan Carter Dance tomorrow night, Thursday 16 May in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick to raise funds for sports and physical activities for children and adults with disabilities in Leitrim beginning at 10pm. Tickets on sale from Leitrim Sports Partnership at 9650498 or the Landmark Hotel. Cost €20. Over 18’s.
