Congratulations to Martina McKeon, Rantogue and Ciaran Holahan, Drumreilly who announced their engagement to their families and friends recently. We wish both of them the very best of luck in the future.

Death

Nora Doughty died in the North West Hospice on February 8th 2013 aged 91. She had been in Sligo General Hospital, having been sent there from Lough Erril Nursing Home on January 25th. Nora (nee McKiernan) was born and reared in Druminagh, Drumcong, second youngest of her family. She emigrated to Birmingham where she married Dan Doughty and lived there until 1993. She came back to Ireland and lived in Corryard, Drumshanbo for eleven years. She spent the last nine years in Mulross Nursing Home. Nora is buried in Drumcong New Cemetery. May she Rest in Peace.

“Launch of Book”

Inez McPadden will launch her book, “My Angels and Me” in Mulvey’s Newsagents, Carrick-on-Shannon on March 9th at 4pm. Book available.

The late Sandra Earley Run/Walk

A 10KM and 4KM Run/Walk in memory of Sandra will take place next Sunday February 24th. The Parish of Kiltubrid will take to the roads for the Special “Ard Na Speire” 10KM and 4KM Run/Walk in memory of the late Sandra Earley. The run will commence at 2pm from the Sheemore Inn, Kilclare. Registration begins at 12:30pm. Entry fee is €10 and €15 for families. You can also register online at www.ardnaspeire.com All funds raised on the day will go to the Heart Appeal at the Mater Foundation, Dublin, a heart screening clinic for families who have lost loved ones to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
