Kinlough Preschool Enrolments

Kinlough Community High Scope Preschool (located next to the Library) are now taking enrolments for children starting September 2013. These are under 2 groups first any child who is born between 2nd Feb 2009 and 30th June 2010 is eligible for the ECCE free year scheme so please check your dates and don’t miss out. For children who do not qualify this year and for our younger children we offer a 2 or 3 or 5 day programme to suit your needs.

As we are a Community playgroup we offer reduced rates to anyone who qualifies, we are here to ensure you know your childcare entitlements. We have an open door policy and for the month of February we are offering a free introductory session where any potential parent is welcome to join us for a morning session with their child so that they are see our programme at work and meet the staff with no obligation. Whist Drive Askill

Whist Drive in Askill Community Centre on Sunday 24th February, 2013 at 8pm sharp. Supper Served. Winners of recent whist held on 17th February, 2013 were Brian Richardson, Daniel Fox, Tiernan Tracey, Josephine Carty, Isobel Fox, Ellen Ward, Shirley McNulty. Raffle Winners were Tiernan Tracey, Lena Maguire, Maura Walsh, Sonny Scallon.

Book Launch

Inez McPadden is launching her first book “My Angels and Me” in Mulveys, Main Street, Carrick on Shannon on the 9th of March at 4 sharp. Her book will be available and she will be signing.

Four Masters N.S. Enrolment

Parents wishing to enrol children for the 2013/2014 school year should do so on or before Friday 29th March 2013. If a child has special needs his/her enrolment form must be submitted by March 8th 2013, so that application can be made to Special Education Needs Organizer for resources to help the Special Education Needs child cope in school. If a family is new to the school, the parents must meet with the Principal/Deputy Principal prior to enrolment. Enrolment forms are available from the school on 071- 9841123.

Melvin Gaels Lotto Draw

The numbers drawn in the Melvin Gaels Lotto draw held in McGloins Kinlough, were 9,12,15 and 24. There was no Jackpot winner. Other winners were €40 , Mary O Reilly,

Lakeland Lodge, Kinlough, €20 each Michael Feely, Lurganhugh, Manorhamilton, Sean McGowan, 1A Melvin Fields, Kinlough and Bernie McGloin, Glenade. Next draw in the Dew Drop Inn, Tullaghan on Sunday March 3rd, Jackpot €1,050.00.

Whist Drive

Annual AA Irish/Scots Gathering

The Annual Alcoholics Anonymous Irish/Scots Gathering takes place in the Great Northern Hotel, Bundoran on the weekend of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of March 2013. Opening meeting at 8am on March 1st. Al Anon in attendance all weekend. Contact hotel for bookings. B&B Offers available.

Kinlough & District Anglers AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Kinlough and District Anglers will be held in the Old School, Main Street, Kinlough on Thursday February 21st at 8pm.

Saint Aidan’s N.S., Ballintrillick

Open night in Saint Aidan’s National School Ballintrillick on Friday 1st March 2013 at 7 p.m. All welcome. Closing date for enrolment is Friday 8th March 2013. Enrolment forms are available from the school.

New Training Initiative

Tribal body fitness is a new training initiative continues in Kinlough community centre from next Wednesday morning, starting with two, one hour circuit classes, beginners (level 1) and intermediate (level 2) at 10 am and 11 am respectively, Wednesdays and Fridays for six Weeks. Share your motivation in a ‘tribe’ oriented atmosphere, where personal goals will be achieved in a challenging but fun way. Cost for 12 classes is €60 or pay per class €7. (Payment plans negotiable). McGowan Clan Gathering

The McGowan Clan Gathering takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend 2nd to 5th. Plans are being put in place for a weekend of Fun and Craic. Old photographs of people of Kinlough are wanted for a display during the weekend.

Parents Association Table Quiz

The Four Masters Parents Association Committee is hosting a fundraising Table Quiz on Friday, 1 March 2013 9:30pm in the The Wellington Bar Kinlough. 20 euro per team of 4. Prizes galore on the night. Come along and enjoy a great night.

First Aid Course

The Four Masters Parents Association Committee have also organised a First Aid Course by First Aid Aware in Four Masters NS on Saturday, 23 February at 10:00am €30 & lunch provided. PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID - Make sure you know what to do in an emergency. The Paediatric First Aid course is a relaxed course designed to give you an introduction to the skills needed for first aid with children. During the course, participants will get expert instruction which will make for an excellent learning environment. Completing this course will help you, as a parent or carer to deal with the various incidents which invariably occur as part of growing up, be they minor or otherwise. Carns NS

Open evening in Carns National School, Moneygold, Grange, Co. Sligo on Thursday 28th Feb (7 to 8pm). Carns School caters for children living in the parish of Ahamlish. Scouts

Scout troop every Monday in The Benwiskin Centre. Beavers (children aged 6, 7, & 8) from 5 - 6pm and Cubs (children aged 9,10,11) from 6 - 7 pm.

Parent & Toddlers

Meet every Monday and Tuesday in The Benwiskin Centre 10am, to 12noon. New people always welcome!
