Plans are now nearly ready to be finalised for our Gathering weekend on the 14th - 16th June 2013. A brief overview of the weekend see a shotgun start golf game at 7am on Friday morning. The official opening of the weekend taking place on Friday evening in the parish with the unveiling of a plaque and the possibility of burying a time capsule. This will then be followed by live music on Friday night by Alan Clarke in Early’s, Hillstreet and a live Irish traditional music session in Brackens.
Saturday will see a 8Km run, numerous history talks and other events in the parish. Saturday night will then be the highlight of the weekend with food and live music in the community centre.
Sunday will see a parish mass followed by a fair day in Hillstreet village. the weekend will then be wrapped up on Saturday night with live music at the Kilmore Inn. As soon as all details/plans are confirmed we will then be contacting each house in the parish and also the list of contacts we have received from everyone in the parish to invite people home for the weekend.
We would encourage each and every family in the parish to invite all your family especially those living within Ireland to come back to the parish for the weekend. The Gathering committee will be holding a once off Cake Sale to raise funds to organise the Gathering weekend on Saturday night the 2nd March in Early’s bar, Hillstreet.
