The Return of the Rossies

Perpetual eucharistic adoration

Tuesday, 19th February, 7.30pm in the Adoration Chapel, Boyle, all past and present adorers are invited to an evening of refection on the Eucharist. The evening will start with mass then a refection led by Fr Pat Lombard, followed by launching of a booklet account of people’s experience of adoration. Refreshments will be served in the Resource Centre afterwards.

Irish classes

Student Irish classes will take place in the Family Life Centre on Tuesday February 19th at 6.15pm until 7.15pm for 10 weeks. Adult class for those who have a good standard of Irish will take place on Tuesdays 7.30pm until 9pm.

Curlew Walkers Club

The next meeting of the walkers club will be taking place on Sunday, February 24th meeting on the Crescent, Boyle at 10.00am. This will be a climb grade B at Balinagleragh, The Playbank with your leader being Philip James Long, contact no. 086 3353 000. St. Joseph’s NS enrolment

St Joseph’s National School, Boyle enrolment forms are available in the school and the forms should be returned by March 8th.

Grange NS enrolment

Enrolment is now underway until March 9th for the academic year 2013/2014. Application forms are available from the school or by contacting 071 966 3424.

Cootehall NS enrolment

St. Michael’s and St. Patrick’s N.S. Cootehall, Boyle enrolment for the 2013/2014 school year will take place from Monday 4th to Wednesday 13th February, 2013 during school hours. Enquiries and further assistance is also available by contacting the Principal’s office in the school – phone no. 071-9667264.

Boyle Musical Society

Are you a past member? If you’re reading this, then the chances are that you have taken part in at least one of our shows. Since our formation in 1984, close on 1500 people have been involved in Boyle Musical Society. 2013 is the year of The Gathering and also the year in which Boyle Musical Society will present its 30th show. Boyle Tennis Club

Boyle Men’s Shed

The community Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the backyard. If you looked inside one you could see anything. From a number of men restoring furniture to perhaps restoring bicycles for a local school, or maybe fixing lawn mowers.

You might also see both young and older men learning new skills from each other and maybe also learning something about life from the men they are working with.

Boyle Golf Club

On Sunday, February 2nd saw the 18 hole stableford won by Terry Canning 47pts, 2nd Charlie O’Donnell 46pts, 3rd Ross Andrew 44pts. The weekly competition was cancelled

due to the bad weather. The Daily Mail Competition will take place on Sunday February 17th. Format is Scotch Foursomes. The entry sheets for the Spring League and the February Open Draw competition are on the noticeboard in the clubhouse.

Patchwork Classes

Patchwork Classes commence on Thursdays from 8pm until 9.30pm. Whist has recommenced on Tuesdays at 8pm in Tawnytaskin Community Centre. Light refreshment served. All welcome. For further information please contact Sandra McCrann on 086-8512191.

10K Fun Walk, Run or Cycle

St Michael’s GAA Club are holding a 10K Fun Walk, Run or Cycle on Sunday, the 17th of February, commencing at 2.00pm, from Ardcarne Park, Cootehall. Registration on the day, starting from 1.30pm. Entrance Fee; €10 per Family, €5 per Adult and U12s are free. Come out and enjoy the day’s fun and crack and walk, run or cycle off those Valentine chocolates in the scenic countryside.
