Tour de Melvin Cycle Run a Great Success

Tour de Melvin Cycle Run a Great Success

On Sunday, 17th February, Melvin Gaels held the inaugural ‘Tour De Melvin’, a fun cycle around the famous North Leitrim lake, in aid of the Lydia Branley Trust Fund and the Melvin Gaels Player Injury Fund. Over 120 competitors eagerly participated on what was fortunately a beautiful, crisp spring morning. All who took part thoroughly enjoyed it and agreed that it should become an annual event.

The huge success of the cycle is owed, firstly to the competitors, but also to the sponsors: Noel McGowan, Spar, Shane Gallagher, Drowes Salmon Fishery, BMG Hardware, Bundoran, Simpsons, Kinlough, The Courthouse Restaurant, Al Connolly Butchers and Teds Bike Shop, Donegal Town, to all those who collected sponsorship and those who gave very generously to the cause, and to those who provided refreshments on the day. To date €1,000 has been raised for each cause and we hope to maintain the success of this

event for years to come.
