Killargue community meeting
The next planning meeting for the August Reunion Weekend will be on Wednesday, 27th February starting at 8pm. All the more the merrier so come along and get involved/lend a hand/bring a photo/see you there?
A light (hearted) walk
The plans for this event are firming up you’ll be pleased to know. Starting at Dromahair Health Centre at 6.30pm this gentle stroll will wind its’ way through the village and finish at the Pavilion (hut?) in the Park. Tea, coffee and juice will be available at the Pavilion but why not bring along a few sandwiches or some cake or biscuits to share and then the whole event will turn into a picnic! The event is FREE and is planned just to remind ourselves of the benefits the Arts and Recreational Centre will ultimately bring to the area...oh, and also to have a chat and a bit of exercise! Come on your own, with a friend, with family members or as part of a club and bring the good weather as well please.
A Youth Disco will take place in Ballinaglera Hall on Friday 1st of March between 9 – 11.30 pm. Event will be fully supervised - parents please note, volunteers always needed! All young people between the ages of 10 and 14 welcome. Great DJ and fun guaranteed!
Tennis Club meeting
The Committee is meeting again on 4th March in the Community Centre to plan the coaching for the approaching season. It always makes me feel that spring and summer will soon be here once tennis planning gets underway.
Glass mosaic evening classes
So after all the planning, exercising and socialising mentioned above how about doing something creative? Create your own unique artworks in this introduction to fused glass.
You will be able to make coloured glass mosaic pendants, brooches, and a glass panel which you can transform into a plate in the kiln.
All items made during the workshop are yours to keep. Louise Rice, an experienced instructor, will demonstrate each step and guide you through the process. Open to all - No experience required - Fee: €85 (inc. tools and materials).
The course will be taking place at The Leitrim Sculpture Centre, New Line, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim on Thursday 7th March, 14th March and 21st March between 7-8.30pm. To Book: Call Louise 087 3139013 - Email firstname.lastname@example.org Book early, as places are limited.
“My Angels and Me” is the first book by Inez McPadden and on 9th March at 4pm sharp if you go along to Mulveys, Main Street, Carrick on Shannon, Inez will be there doing a book signing. Inez McPadden, formerly Inez O’Callaghan from Drumshanbo, is now a local girl.....she lives in Dromahair.
St Patrick’s Day Parade in Dromahair!
I hear that for the first time ever (?) there will be a St Patrick’s Day Parade in Dromahair. More information once I’ve heard a bit more! (Actually you could read it yourself on the Dromahair Diary blog if you have computer access).
Red roads in Killargue!
Well Killargue might not be having a parade but it’s got red roads! I’m assuming that the red road markings at either end of the village are to remind motorists of the speed restrictions?...they’re a nice colour as well!
What with red roads and new green metal boxes on the sides of the road at Leddy’s corner...the streetscape is getting very colourful!
Please remember that without you...
there’s nothing to share, so anything that happened yesterday, is happening today or expected to happen tomorrow that may be of interest to our community, then please let me know at the number/address at the top of these notes and I’ll spread the word!
