Congratulations to the following children who received the sacrament of Confirmation on Friday evening last: Alanna Ward, Jack Davis, Michelle Gormley, Chloe Cunningham, Jamie Quinn, Amy Quinn, Oisin Niblock, Sophia Lee, Dylan Lee, Tom Reel, Kieran Reen. Well done to their teacher Barbara Kavanagh who prepared the children so well for the event, to the altar servers who turned out in such large numbers, our organist Mairead Whelan and the choir who devoted so much time to choir practice in preparation and were well rewarded on the day.
Members are reminded that classes in reflexology and aromatherapy commence tonight, Wednesday 24th at 7.30pm sharp. The next meeting will be next Thursday night, May 2nd at 8.30pm in the community centre.
The death took place recently after a short illness of Margaret Mitchell, Drimmeen, wife of the late Charlie.
Her remains were removed from her sister, Bridget Canning’s residence at Cornagher, Gorvagh on Tuesday, April 9th to St Mary’s Church, Cloone. She was laid to rest after her funeral mass on Wednesday in the local cemetery. We tender sympathy with her sister, Bridget, nieces Mary, Tanya and Fionnuala, relatives and friends.
The death also occurred on April 16th of Jimmy Mimnagh of Gortfadda, Mohill and formerly of Farnaught.
His remains were removed from his residence to St Patrick’s Church, Mohill with burial taking place in Cloonmorris cemetery following his funeral mass on Thursday. Jimmy was a talented musician; playing banjo, fiddle and accordion. Jimmy suffered from a stroke some time ago and he coped with his illness bravely. We offer our sympathies to his wife Jackie, sons Jonathan, Gerard and Seamus, daughter-in-law, grandson Jason, family, relatives and friends.
May they rest in peace.
