The Ceremony of Light in preparation for Confirmation takes place in Keadue Church this Wednesday April 24th at 8pm. Confessions will take place after the Ceremony of Light.

Bishop Colm O’Reilly will meet the young people for Confirmation from Strabraggan, Ballyfarnon and Keadue schools in Keadue Church on Thursday May 2nd at 10am. Afterwards a practice for confirmation will take place. Confirmation will take place on Wednesday May 8th at 3pm in Keadue.

St. Ronan’s Lotto

There was no winner in the Lotto jackpot when the draw was held last weekend. The numbers drawn were 6, 16, 18, 25. Consolation prizes were won by the following: €70 Shannon and Casey Keaveney, Arigna, €30 Ben Costello, Ballyfarnon, €15 each Ray G and Mick J, Arigna, John Reynolds, Arigna, Martin Roddy, Keadye. The jackpot this week will be €7,300 and the draw will be held in McCabe’s Bar, Keadue.

Arigna and Ballyfarnon Playschools

We are holding a Kid’s Disco on Saturday May 4th at 5pm in Ballyfarnon Community Centre to raise funds for both Ballyfarnon and Arigna Playschools. Please support this joint community effort to provide preschool services to all the young children of the Parish.

St. Ronan’s GAA Club

Meeting in Kilronan’s Ballyfarnon at 9pm on Wednesday April 24th. Tickets for the Dinner Dance in Kilronan Castle on May 5th now available in Killronan’s and Healy’s, Ballyfarnon, John Reynolds, Arigna and Oliver McCabe’s, Keadue from Tuesday also in Shivnan’s on Saturday April 20th at 10:30pm and Roddy’s on Monday 22nd at 9:30pm.

Officials listed in previous club notes can still arrange tickets. Tickets sales are going well so you need to get your ticket now toa void disappointment. Full programme of events for the “St. Ronan’s Gathering Weekend” will be avaulable on our Facebook page and in local shops. We apologize that there is a printing error in the tickets. It is definitely a Dinner, not a Buffet.

Scrap Metal wanted

Kilronan Community Playschool

8K walk on Sunday April 28th. Registration in Ballyfarnon Community Centre at 1:30pm. The route is via Kilronan Castle Estate and is partly on the main road and partly in woodland. Refreshments.served back in the community centre following the walk. €5 per person. Families €10, please come along and support this event. Volunteers needed.

American Tea Party

The organising committee of the American Tea Party held in St. Ronan’s Hall would like to thank all those who supported the function. Also thanks to the many sponsors and to the ladies who took charge of the catering and to all who brought food. A word of thanks to the Leitrim Village community for the loan of their tables and tableware and to Julie and St. Asicus Centre for their help. The party proved to be a major success and attracted a huge crowd.

Crossna Drama biggest cast yet

Crossna Drama Society will be performing My Wife’s Family, a 3 act comedy with the biggest cast yet of 11 on Friday April 26th and Saturday April 27th 2013 at Crossna Community Centre, Knockvicar. Doors open 8:30pm. Curtains up Friday 9pm and Saturday 9:15pm sharp. Admission adults €10. Maximum family charge €20. Cast: Majella Sweeney, Drumboylan, Stephen Carty, Toirleach Bruen, Aoife Roddy, Geraldine McMorrow, John James Tobin, Sharon Noone, Nicole McDermott, Noel Moran, Judy Byford and Tommy Simon. Last year’s play was voted by many to be the group’s best ever. If this play even comes close with some great actors back onstage after a break, then it’s certainly worth going to.

Pony Drive

The annual charity Pony Drive will be held in Keadue to Leitrim on Sunday, April 28th next starting at 3pm. This is a very popular event and a huge crowd is expected. Music and refreshments in McCabe’s Bar afterwards.

Information evening

An information evening on Rainwater Harvesting and Organic Gardening will take place in St Ronan’s Hall, Keadue on Monday, 29th April at 8pm.

The presentations will be on the benefits of harvesting rainwater for home, farm & garden use by Gerry Golden, Golden Rainwater Harvesting; Getting the most out of the Irish growing season by growing in polytunnels, Seed saving, Living willow fencing by Lazlo, Knockvicar Organic Gardens. All very welcome to attend.
