Up Up and Away
Hot Air Balloons will enthral both the young and the not so young. Saturday 25th and Sunday, 26th May will bring back memories to many who saw the balloons in Lough Key Forest Park 20 years ago thanks to Roscommon County Council. Balloon launches will be from the beautiful Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle so if you want to see the balloons inflate and launch you will need to be in the park by 6.30 am and 6.30pm. Irish Balloon Flights are taking bookings for hot air balloon rides. These flights MUST be booked in advance and there are limited spaces available so book early to avoid disappointment. NO bookings will be taken over that weekend. Abbey Haven Care Centre & Nursing Home, Carrick Road, Boyle would like to say a sincere thanks to everyone who attended, contributed or baked for our Western Alzheimers Tea Day on Friday 26th April. We successfully raised €920 on the day and this money will go to secure help in the community for all those families caring for a loved one with Alzheimers Disease.

There was a great turnout for the voucher on Sunday April 28th, thanks to all who took part. Congratulaions to Gerry Emmet who won with a score of 60, 2nd Ross Andrew 63, Gross Gary Carty, 3rd Willie Tiernan 63. Special thanks to Charlie and the volunteers for preparing the course so well and to competition secretary Michael Rush for organising the 18 hole open which was held on Wednesday 24th and won by Pat Conroy with 37pts. Thursday 25th night’s mens competition was won by Vincent Egan 21pts, 2nd Michael Gilmartin 21pts, 3rd Sean Heslin 20pts. Friday April 26th scramble which was won Niall Kearney, Aisling Gaughran & Michael Rushe, 2nd Michael Simon, Kathleen Candon & Seamus Gallagher, 3rd Padraig O’Connell, Joey Mullaney & Killian Doyle.
Thanks to all who supported the “Quiz & Curry Nite” last Friday, April 26th which was a great turnout and a great night.
