Melvin Gaels Lotto

The numbers drawn in the Melvin Gaels Lotto Draw held in the Gilbrides, Rossinver on Sunday night, May 5th were 1, 2, 4 and 7. Jackpot of €1,250 was won by Brendan McGowan, Drumacrin, Bundoran. Congratulations Brendan. Next draw in McGloin’s, Kinlough on Sunday May 19th, Jackpot €1,000.

Kinlough High/Scope Pre-School

Kinlough High/Scope pre-school is offering Early childhood, care and education. (free place scheme) Community childcare subvention. (reduced rates). If your child is 2years and 6 mths this September2013 have you considered enrolling him/her for as little as €6.50 per day (criteria applies) in our award winning High/Scope pre-school. Melvin Gaels Gaelic4mothers and Others has resumed training outdoors in Melvin Park on Wednesday evenings at 8pm. This is a recreational initiative which focuses on teaching the basic skills of gaelic football to women who have never played before or who have not played for a long time. People With Special Needs

Cáirde Liatroim is holding a fund raising dance with TR Dallas, Mickey Clerkin and Seán McAloon in the Bush Hotel Carrick-On-Shannon on Thursday 9th May. Start 8pm. Cáirde Liatroim is a social club which provides outings for people with special needs. Great raffle prizes on the night. Tickets available at the door or contact 086 2545613.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes

The annual Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will take place from 27th May to 1st June led by Bishop Leo O’ Reilly. Bookings may be made for the Assisted Pilgrim Section with Rev Kevin Fay, Lavey on 087 857 9968 / 049 433 0018. Bookings for Hotels is through McGinnity Travel, Coleman Road, Cavan on 049 4331 831. If anyone feels that someone in their family or a neighbour would benefit from taking part in this Pilgrimage they should contact Fr Fay. Early booking essential.

Coding for Kids for free

We are setting up a free coding for kids class in Ballinamore. Coding is the way you build websites, computer games and Apps.Coding is very useful for kids and adults alike. CoderDojo is the organisation worldwide who want to teach kids to code for free. All the information is here are over 50 coderdojos in Ireland today.We need adults and kids to email us to see if we have enough interest. We intend to have one every Saturday for 1 or 2 hours.This is open to all kids the Leitrim/Cavan/Longford/Fermanagh area. Please email if you want to help or are interested in joining.

Alzheimer’s Tea Day

The Thursday Club will again be hosting a Tea Day for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, 9th May at the Ballagh Centre, Rossinver. Dramatic cuts in health services, growing waiting lists and increasing numbers of people being diagnosed with dementia means the Tea Day is critically important. All money raised will help fund local Alzheimer services for families in County Leitrim. Everyone in the area is urged to drop in, have a cup of tea and donate to this very worthy cause.

The Benwiskin Centre

COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT: Course has commenced on Mondays 9.30am-11.30am at The Benwiskin and will run from April - September for approx. 22 weeks. Tutor Ciara Barrett from the Organic Centre in Rossinver. Contact us for further details and to register your interest.
