Birthday Wishes

Tidy Town Spring Clean

Fundraising dance

Cáirde Liatroim is holding a fundraising dance in aid of people with special needs with TR Dallas, Mickey Clerkin and Seán McAloon in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon on Thursday, 9th May. Start 8pm. Cáirde Liatroim is a social club which provides outings for people with special needs. Great raffle prizes on the night. Tickets available at the door or contact 086 2545613.

Monday 20th May 2013, St. Theresa’s Ballintogher. Prayer Service: Guest Speaker: Mike Rainsworth, Health Promotions Manager and Suicide Prevention Officer, H.S.E. North West. Mike will be discussing mental health and wellbeing and how we can promote positive mental wellbeing to those around us.

Tuesday 21st May 2013, St. Theresa’s Ballintogher. Mass: Guest Speaker: Oisin McConville was the Captain of Armagh, the All Ireland winning team of 2002 and winner of six club titles with Crossmaglen. Oisin travels the country, sharing his story and educating on the dangers of gambling.

Wednesday 22nd May 2013, St. Michael’s Killavoggy. Prayer Service and Veneration of the Relics of St. Padro Pio – the patten that he used to celebrate Holy Mass and the mitten that he wore. Guest Speakers: Sean and Ann Mulrine.Ann was clinically dead and recovered through the miraculous intercession of PadroPio over thirty years ago. Sean and Ann will give testimony about how this has changed their lives.

Thursday 23rd May 2013, St. Michael’s Killavoggy. Mass: Guest Speaker: Tommie Gorman, R.T.E.’s Chief Correspondent at the Belfast Office. Tommie speaks candidly of his battle with a rare form of cancer since 1994. Tommie’s story will give people hope and courage to face serious adversities in life.

Friday 24th May 2013, St. Mary’s Killenummery (Ballinagar). Prayer Service: Guest Speaker: Dr Tony Bates (clinical psychologist), is Ireland’s leading expert in youth suicide and resident psychologist on the Marion Finnucaine Show on RTE. Dr Tony Bates is the Founder of Headstrong, the national centre for youth mental health, and will share on this and his more than thirty years’ experience in the field on mental health.

Saturday 25th May 2013, St. Mary’s Killenummery (Ballinagar). Vigil Mass for Sunday and close of Vision Week. Guest speaker:Mark Harte, son of Micky Harte and brother of Michaela McAreavy. Mark is one of the founders of the Michaela McAreavy Foundation, remembering Michaela through helping young people to socialise without drugs and alcohol.

Alzheimer’s Tea Day

Alzheimer’s Tea Day takes place in the Women’s Centre, The Bee Park Centre, Manorhamilton on Thursday, 9th May from 11am onwards. Your support is greatly appreciated. Make it a day to remember, come along and have a cuppa, bring a friend.
