Fundraising events for James Gill

Fundraising events for James Gill

James Gill is suffering from a rare liver cancer and his only hope is further treatment in America. The cost of this is €80.000 and various fundraising events are taking place to help this young man of just twenty years old to have a chance of survival.

James’s Dad Declan is from Curramartin, Drumsna and his grand-parents Mary and P.J. Gill live in Coolcrieve. He has many cousins and relatives all around the Drumsna area. He has been fighting cancer for a number of years while being looked after with great care by his Mom Geraldine, Dad Declan and his sister and brothers.

On Easter Sunday night march 31st there will be a fundraiser in Duignan’s Drumsna with music by Country one. Admission is optional. On Friday night April 5th there will be a fundraiser in Cox’s Steak House with music by Nando and Shandy Admission optional. There are also tickets on sale for €10 each 1st prize a vintage tractor, 2nd a maiden Heifer, 3rd €300 worth of heating oil and the draw will take place in Taylor’s, Drumsna on Saturday night April 20th. Would all intending competitors/grúpaí cheoil/céilí bands, duets, trios, singers and dancers please note the closing date for Fleadh Cheoil Liatroma in Ballinamore on April 26th, 27th, 28th is fast approaching. The closing date for Entries is March 25th (Holy Thursday). Please call/text Maura Murphy, Co. Sec. Leitrim Comhaltas on 087-2992449 for Entry Forms or download Forms on http/www.comhaltas.ie and forward to Maura Murphy, Co. Sec. Leitrim Comhaltas, The Snug, Leitrim Village or to Lorraine Sweeney, Co, Fleadh Sec., Ballintogher, Co. Sligo. It is vital to have all entries in by closing date and we would much appreciate your co-operation in doing so.

Bingo

Bingo continues in Drumsna Community Centre on Thursday night at 8.30 p.m.

Lotto

The Parish and G.A.A. Lotto Draw will be held in Duignan’s, Drumsna on Sunday next 24th March with a jackpot of €4,100.

Church Notes

Please note change of Masses while St. Mary’s Church, Annaduff is being refurbished as follows: Masses will now be celebrated in Drumsna Church: Monday evening 7 p.m. followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 8 p.m. Holy Hour Duty: Gerry O’Connor, Mona Guckian, Milly McNally, Marion Casserly: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 a.m. Friday (7 p.m.). Saturday evening Vigil Mass 7 p.m. in Drumsna and the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass will be celebrated in Annaduff N.S.

Ceili Dancing

Ceili Dancing continues in Annaduff Community Centre on Friday next, 22nd March from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Zumba Dancing

Also Zumba Dancing on Thursday night next, 21st March from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. All are welcome.
