Mass on Thursday at 7.30 pm which is offered as a Month’s Mind Mass for John Blessing, late of Corrala. Stations of the Cross for Lent on Thursday after Mass. Vigil Mass for Palm Sunday on Saturday at 8.00 pm. Palm branches will be blessed at this Mass. Servers are Group 4 with Michael Maguire in charge. Eucharistic Adoration each Tuesday evening at 7.00 pm followed by Prayer Service with communion at 8.00 pm. Congratulations to our sixth class pupils, Shauna, Emer, Michelle and Hughie who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday last in St. Mary’s Church, Carrigallen. Pretty Corrawallen Wedding
The wedding took place in St. Columba’s Church, Corrawallen on Sunday, March 17th of Mr. Carl Johnston, son of Tom and Margaret Johnston, Legnagun, Newtowngore and Miss Jennifer Taylor, daughter of Harold and Betty Taylor, Clonboyher. The ceremony was conducted by Rev Sandra Lindsay, Right Rev. Dr. S.G. Poyntz and Capt. Richard Beadle. The bride, who was assisted by her bridesmaids Margaret Townsend, Gayle Anderson and Janice Foster, was given away by her father Harold. The Bestman was David Mimna, and Trevor Johnston and Peter Johnston were the groomsmen. Lacie and Kenzie Johnston were the Flower Girls, and Samuel Taylor and David Townsend acted as Page Boys. The ushers were Graeme and Barry Taylor. The Lessons were read by George Taylor and Heather Robinson. The reflection was read by Martina Quinn and Carmel Connolly. Geraldine McCaffrey was the soloist and the organist was Daphne Harkness. The reception afterwards was held in the Landmark Hotel, Ck on Shannon. Following the meal the guests disported themselves at an enjoyable Social, and the evening’s revels ended with a Disco with music supplied by Seán Slattery and The Connections at both Social and Disco. We wish Carl and Jenny many years of connubial bliss.

Active Age Snippets
There was an attendance of sixteen at last Wednesday night’s meeting of Drumreilly Active Age Group. The main items on the agenda were the distribution of the Cheese/ Butter/Rice allocations, the arranging of a Bowling session in Ck on Shannon on next Thursday March 21st and the planning of a summer outing. All are requested to attend on this Wednesday March 20th, when our guest speaker will be Mary Holahan.

Drumreilly defeated Cloone by 1-11 to 2-1, and were beaten by 1-13 to 1-5 by Allen Gaels and by Gortletteragh by 0-10 to 0-9 in Division 1. The minor team was beaten by 1-7 to 1-5 in their League game against Kiltubrid and shared the points with Aughnasheelin Congratulations were in order for Michael and Rita Mitchell, Drumcoura with the birth of their baby son Fergal. As part of a course for new I.C.A. Guilds, Secretary Rose Conefrey spent a week in An Grianán. The death took place in Brooklyn of former Kilmore resident Mrs. Mary Anne Delaney, nee Baxter. R.I.P.

Drumreilly GAA Club is running a fundraiser called “Who wants to be a Thousandaire.” The launch night where tickets go on sale takes place in Drumcoura City on 28th March at 9pm. The special guest will be Sligo’s Eamonn O’Hara.
