Mohill’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade
At 4pm on Sunday March 17th last, the air was alive with music as the Enniskillen Pipe Band led the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Mohill. As Grand Marshalls, my husband Tony O’Reilly and yours truly Teresa followed up in Tommy Leslie’s 1964 Jaguar. It was a momentous occasion for us and we thank the organisers who made the day so spectacular. Jim O’Brien as St. Patrick and Luke Early as Pope Francis together with the numerous floats and the participation of the children, not forgetting the large attendance made this day a memorable occassion. M.C on the platform Thomas Mulligan COC did a great job announcing each participant as they passed by. Thanks to J’s Hotel and the business people of the town for their support. Also a big thank you to the organising committee for once again making the parade here in Mohill worthwhile for all to see. Roll on 2014 for more of the same. Extending a cead mile failte to all.
Please note Eucharistic Adoration will take place on Wednesday March 20th this week due to the Millennium Choir Concert perofrming in St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday March 21st. Hopefully most people will be free to attend at the same time on this Wednesday. Apologizes for any inconvience caused.

Kathleen Tiernan (Sweeney)
The death of Kathleen Tiernan, Tooman, Mohill at Lough Errill Nursing Home last week has caused widespread regret in the community. Sadly she was predeceased by her loving husband many years ago. Kathleen was a lady of deep faith, a most devoted mother and grandmother. She loved being out and about, remembering back the years when she worked here in T. Casey’s, Bridge Street. She was a lovely girl who was held in the highest esteem by all her customers who remember her with great affection. Her removal to Gortletteragh Church and funeral ater Requiem Mass was highly representative and fitting to the esteem in which she and her family were held in the community and to whom we offer our most sincere sympathy. “She was a mother so very rare, content in her home and always there. On Earth, she toiled. In Heaven, she rests. God bless you, Kathleen, you were one of the best”. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Free Digital Library
It’s all digital things these days! The library is no different! You may not be aware that Leitrim County Library offers a free digital library to its members. Membership of the library is free too! All you need is an eBook reader or a laptop or a computer or a smart phone. Unfortunately this service will not work with the popular Kindle yet but the library service expects it will in the future and say negotiations are ongoing with Kindle. You can access the eBook service which has both eBooks and audio books at the library website at www.leitrimlibrary.ie and click digital library on the left hand side of the page. If you click the Getting Started link there are useful instructions here on how to download your books, etc. This is a great service if you can not get to the library or are on holidays and like a good read by the pool. The library will be adding more titles as the year progresses.
