Rossinver Youth and Community Project (RYCP), the Cabin, Strad Connolly, Rossinver. Wednesday, 6th February at 7.15 pm: Open Evening and Information Session for local

community groups. Sunday 10th February at 3.00 pm: Open Day for ALL members of the Community. All are invited to come down to the Cabin and see the plans for the new community centre, meet the board, find out about the work of the RYCP, and ask questions. New Training Initiative

Tribal body fitness is a new training initiative starting in the Kinlough community centre from next Wednesday morning, starting with two, one hour circuit classes, beginners (level 1) and intermediate (level 2) at 10 am and 11 am respectively, Wednesdays and Fridays for six Weeks. Share your motivation in a ‘tribe’ oriented atmosphere, where personal goals will be achieved in a challenging but fun way. Cost for 12 classes is €60 or pay per class €7. (Payment plans negotiable). Play School Fundraising

There was a very successful fundraiser which was held in Kinlough Community Centre on last Saturday 26th January at 8pm in aid of Kinlough High Scope Preschool. The evening despite very stormy wet weather had a great turnout and large crowd of ladies really enjoyed a varied programme which included 3 mothers from the playschool being made over Agnes McSharry (Hair by Arroo Kinlough, outfit by Glamour girl Bundoran and make up by Beauty by Marie Booth), Sharon Curneen (hair by Marie Therese McGloin, outfit from Second Debut Bundoran and makeup by Beauty by Marie Booth), and Louise Pugh Doherty (hair by Sirons Bundoran, outfit by Image Boutique Bundoran and makeup by Beauty by Marie).

There were also fashion slots from Glamour girl, Second Debut and Image Boutique Bundoran as well as sample treatments for some of the audience including foot readings by

Rita McGowan, dry cuts by Arroo Hairdressing Kinlough, nails by Sinead McGowan and makeup by Terese McGloin. Guest speakers on the night included Sinead Grimes (holistic

nutrition), Michelle Bell (Get the new year moving), Derval McGovern (Success in business) and Lisa Keely (angel readings) with Siobhan McGloin doing MC for the night. A very funny sketch was performed by Antoinette Ryan and Regina Fahey which had the audience in stitches. It was a very enjoyable and successful event with €2,150 being raised on the night. The staff of the playschool would like to thank all those involved in the show in any way, all those who donated raffle prizes and helped with music, sound and the hall set up and refreshments.

Melvin Gaels Jackpot Winners

Congratulations to Mary and Mickie Byrne, Spa Brae, Kinlough who won the Jackpot of €1,200.00 in the Melvin Gaels Lotto draw held in Gilbrides, Rossinver on Sunday night,

February 3rd. The numbers drawn were: 5,10,15 and 20. The next draw will take place in Mc Gloins, Kinlough on Sunday February 17th and the Jackpot will be €1000.00.

Askill Whist Drive

Whist Drive in Askill Community Centre on Sunday 10th February, 2013 at 8pm sharp, Supper served. Community Games AGM

Community Games AGM Thursday 7th Feb in the Old School House, Main Street, Kinlough at 8.30pm All Welcome to attend. Swimming Competition: Community Games for local area children from Kinlough, Glenade, Rossinver and Tullaghan, will be held on Sunday 7th April at 11am. Please note a change in date. All children U8-U16 welcome.

McGowan Clan Gathering

A meeting will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday 6th at 8pm to organise the McGowan Clan Gathering which takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend 2nd to

5th. Everybody who wishes to get involved or has any ideas is asked to come along. Old photographs of people of Kinlough are wanted for display.

Parents Association Table Quiz

The Four Masters Parents Association Committee is hosting a fundraising Table Quiz on Friday, 1 March 2013 9:30pm in the The Wellington Bar Kinlough. €20 per team of 4.

Prizes galore on the night. Come along and enjoy a great night.

First Aid Course

The Four Masters Parents Association Committee have also organised a First Aid Course by First Aid Aware in Four Masters NS on Saturday, 23 February at 10am €30 & lunch

provided.

PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID - Make sure you know what to do in an emergency. The Paediatric First Aid course is a relaxed course designed to give you an introduction to the

skills needed for first aid with children. During the course, participants will get expert instruction which will make for an excellent learning environment. Completing this coursewill help you, as a parent or carer to deal with the various incidents which invariably occur as part of growing up, be they minor or otherwise. “Tour de Melvin” Fun Cycle Run

A Fun Cycle Run around Lough Melvin will be held on Sunday February 17th in aid of the Melvin Gaels players’ injury fund and the Lydia Branley Trust Fund. It will start at Kinlough Community Centre and will go around Lough Melvin finishing at the Community Centre where there will be refreshments. Entry fee is €10 which will be donated to the funds. GEOLOGY OF THE NORTHWEST OF IRELAND: This talk will explain how the North West of Ireland has come to have its peculiar landscape, which constitutes a trademark recognised worldwide. By attending you will gain an understanding of the following: some fundamental principles of geology; which kind of rocks are present in the North West of Ireland and how they formed; events which shaped the landscape of this area; an overview of some of the natural resources (groundwater, minerals) and of hazards (landslides earthquakes) present in the area.
