St Patrick’s Day Parade meeting

The committee’s next meeting will be held in Clarke’s Bar, Patrick’s St at 6pm on Tuesday, February 6th. Everyone welcome to come along.

Tennis Club

Tennis coaching for children every Monday until Monday March 11th. Under 9 years 3.30pm until 4.30pm, over 9 years 4.30pm until 5.30pm. The fee for this six week course is €30 and includes membership up until March 2014. For enquiries please contact Noreen on 071 9662996.

GAA 2013 Dinner Dance

Preparations are well advanced for the joint Men’s’ Club and Ladies’ Club Dinner Dance which will be held in Kilronan Castle Hotel on Saturday 9th February. The special guest will be a current All Star player. Medals will be presented on the night to the County Junior A Title winning ladies team and to the Boyle Minors who were runners-up in the County Division 1 Championship. The annual player of the year, club person of the year and the Hall of Fame awards will also be presented on the night. Tickets, at the very reasonable price of €35 are available from 10 persons representing both clubs. Those wishing to attend are advised to purchase their tickets early to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

Curlew Walkers Club

The next meeting of the walkers club will be taking place on Sunday, February 10th meeting on the Crescent, Boyle at 10.30am. This will be a flat/climb grade B from Castlebaldwin to Ballyfarnan with your leader being Mary Long, contact no 087-9528754. Boyle Town Enhancement Plan

Are you a member of a community group or voluntary organisation in Boyle? If so, we would like to hear your ideas for enhancing the town of Boyle. Please join us for a

consultation workshop in Boyle Enterprise Centre on Wednesday February 13th at 7pm. Your ideas and opinions will be used to help develop a 3 Year Town Enhancement Plan

Cootehall N.S. enrolment

St. Michael’s and St. Patrick’s N.S. Cootehall, Boyle enrolment for the 2013/2014 school year will take place until Wednesday, 13th February, 2013 during school hours. Enquiries and further assistance is also available by contacting the Principal’s office in the school – phone no. 071-9667264.

Art class

Boyle Musical Society

Are you a past member? If you’re reading this, then the chances are that you have taken part in at least one of our shows. Since our formation in 1984, close on 1500 people have been involved in Boyle Musical Society. 2013 is the year of The Gathering and also the year in which Boyle Musical Society will present its 30th show. Boyle Library

Now offering a Irish based programme that benefits students experiencing literacy difficulties. The programme is named Typeshands and is designed to develop literacy and typing skills in students. Roscommon Supported Employment Service

The Roscommon Supported Employment Service is calling all those who are in receipt of Social Welfare Disability or Illness related payments and who may be interested in sourcing part-time employment to contact their team of professional Job Coaches on 094-9620328. The team provides confidential one-to-one support services for an 18 month period and can assist with C.V. preparation, interview skills, job seeking and support to retain employment. Many individuals find part-time work and also retain all or some of their Social Welfare benefits. There is an exemption process through which people in receipt of some benefits are granted permission to work. This is available from the Department of Social Welfare. Entry to the programme is through the FAS Employment Services Officer who will guide you in your application for Supported Employment. Boyle Golf Club

On Sunday, January 27th competition was cancelled due to bad weather. The weekly competition was won by John McGuin with 22pts. The results of the Member Survey were presented in the clubhouse also on Sunday evening. Copies of the results are available in the clubhouse along with comments and suggestions. Thank you to all who took part or attended the presentation. Well done to Moira Egan who won the three months membership of the club draw. Stott pilates classes

A contemporary approach to Pilates which includes the modern principles of exercise, science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and most effective methods available. ‘DONATE A SLATE’: Family Life Centre, Boyle ‘New Roof Fund’.‘Donate a Slate’ either by calling to the Centre or by visiting our website to donate online at www.familylifecentre.ie . Thank you for your continued support. To date we have raised €23,500 for the replacement of the main roof and other necessary works of refurbishment. Our target is €30,000.

PARENTING TEENAGERS: Monthly sessions for parents on a variety of topics all relevant to parents of teenagers. Tuesdays at 10am in the Centre.

POSITIVE PARENTING: A one session workshop for parents of children aged 0 to 12 years. You can ring the Centre to express your interest in this programme.
