Drumsna Foroige Club
The members and leaders wish to thank everyone who was involved in making the Easter Sunday cake sale such a success, to all who helped in anyway, baking, assisting in the Centre and all those who supported the cake sale. The funding goes towards equipment and trips for the group. All the help is much appreciated.
The Drumsna Foroige club are also participating in a 5km walk on Wednesday, April 24th to raise funds for Croi, Everyone is welcome to join the walk which commences at Drumsna community Centre at 7.30pm. There will be light refreshments afterwards. Leader Gwen Fitzgibbon is also doing a Croi Charity Challenge by walking 125km in September in the Camino Trek challenge. All funds go to the Charity Croi which is Fighting Heart disease and stroke
Golden Age meeting
There is a Golden Age meeting in the Centre on Wednesday April 17th at 11am. There will be a practise for the May Madness Ball which takes in the Bush Hotel, Carrick on Wednesday night, May 1st, with dancing to Country Stars, refreshments and the usual May Madness. The group travel to The Dock on Wednesday, May 8th to See Carrick Active Age Group making their debut.
There will be a benefit Auction for the James Gill Cancer Fund in Drumshanbo Mart on this Friday evening Friday April 19th at 8.30pm. Items for Auction include a Heifer, One and a hsalf tons of Animal feed, Tanka Hedge Trimmer and numerous other great items. Please come along and support this worthy cause.
James Gill Fund
The draw for the James Gill Cancer fund takes place in Taylor’s bar Drumsna on Saturday night, April 20th. All tickets stubs must be returned by Saturday night to be in the draw. There will be a meeting concerning same in the centre Drumsna on Tuesday night, April 23rd.
The Drumsna Development Association would like to acknowledge the support of the Rural Social Scheme and Leitrim Development Co., and the Department of Social protection. The Rural Social Scheme has a very important role that assists with the maintenance and upkeep of our village and compliments the work of our voluntary Tidy Towns Committee. The village is once again entering the County Floral Pride Competition and also the Tidy Towns competition 2013.
U10 Gaelic Football (Mixed)
Trials for the U 10 Carrick Area Community Games will take place in the Leitrim Village community pitch on Wednesday, April 17th at 7pm. Players must be born between Aug 1st 2003 and July 1st 2005 to take part.
Creativity Art Camp for kids
A six week fun and creative “Go Van Gogh” Art Camp for kids is commencing in the Community Centre, Drumsna on Saturday, May 11th. Ages 4 to 7 11am until 1pm. Ages 8 to 12 from 2pm until 4pm. Course costs €60 and family rates apply. Booking is essential at 086 4075183 or 086 3903221.
Cake Sale Fundraiser
St Mary’s Figure Dance team are holding a fundraising cake sale next Saturday and Sunday. The 8 ladies in the team have qualified for the All-Ireland Scor final in Derry on Saturday, 27th April. The cake sale is taking place after 7pm mass in Jamestown on Saturday evening, after 10am mass in Gowel on Sunday morning and after 12 noon mass in Carrick-on-Shannon, your support would be greatly appreciated, lots of nice goodies on offer.
